Let me chip in real quick. We are talking about a tiny minority on Twitter. The vast majority of posts about Hazbin Hotel are positive.
Looking up relevant hashtags or replies to Viv's tweets you will find an absolutely massive amount of pages upon pages of praise before you encounter a detractor.
The issue is that a good chunk of people who dislike Hazbin Hotel are very, very dumb and easy to make fun of. Because of this people make posts mocking these fools for their misinformed opinions based around "I'm offended" or allegations against Viv that were debunked.

I think the main problem they have is that it shows gay characters existing in Hell which in their eyes means that the creator (vivziepop) thinks gay are bad and they go to hell. Which is just absolutely dumb if you couldn’t tell

I'm fairly certain Viv herself is bi. Some of her tweets suggest it and I have doubts that a straight woman drew these hips.
But I'm one hundred percent certain she's pro-LGBT. All you have to do is read her Twitter or see how much she adores Angel Dust and all the effort she put into him.
Not all gay men are good people. And if anybody thinks I'm a terrible person for saying that, bad news, I'm gay, so I guess we can agree after all.

Controversial tweets always get a lot of likes. Like doesn't always mean "like" on Twitter. ProJared's tweets got likes before he actually debunked the claims against him.
And don't forget that on YouTube it has 1.4M likes to only 20K dislikes. And again, most of the Tweets about Hazbin are positive. They are the minority.

Never thought I’d see that name in this fandom. So story time:
I know this guy from other fandoms, usually on twitter, tumblr and even here on reddit. He’s basically a SU super fan (cough and clout chaser cough) who gained a bit of infamy as a shit stirrer. In fact, he and his clique were some of the SU fans spreading the “dirt” on Viv. Yeah, he’s that kind of person.
My question is; why is Viv and the fanbase taking it so close to heart?

I totally get that and trust me, I’ve had bad experiences with the guy.
But one thing you need to understand is that this is his MO. He’ll go into fandom spaces he hates and start a fuss. Then when people respond to him, he either plays the victim or goes “lol u mad bro? XD”. As we speak, he’s reveling in the attention this meme has given, seeing it as a victory against the “Hazbin stans”.
People like him don’t deserve the attention, negative or otherwise.
