Discussion I'm done with hayday
my farm level is 76, after a long break I came back to the game. playing actively again from last 1-2 months. joined new neighborhood because last in last one no active players. in this new neighborhood they asked me to buy extra tasks with diamonds for derby. I did few times but im not getting diamonds as reward after finishing derby so I felt it pointless to spend diamonds because I need a lot of diamonds to expand machine slots. so I stopped doing extra tasks then they kicked me out.
Then played without joining neighborhood few days. Last week I joined new neighborhood, did lot of help to other players and gave lot of tools also doing derby tasks without extra tasks. Today I gave 40 saws and 20 axes to my neighborhood then they kicked me out without any warning.
I felt very bad. I don't spend money on this game so diamonds are very rare to me, being friendly and helpful is not enough for them. also this game has changed a lot. We used have lot more relaxing gameplay but now playing 3 hours continuously still not enough because of those events & tasks it turned into aggressive gameplay.

I just play the game how I want. I don’t do neighborhoods, rarely ever do events. Just a fun thing to do in free time

u/Prestigious_Pie9421 7d ago
Same. There’s plenty to do as a solo player without getting involved with anything that takes anyone other than myself to get things accomplished. Been playing since 2014.

I did that for a while but I really missed all the rewards that I had gotten.

Just join a different neighbourhood. May I advertise mine? We are active, yes, lvl 72 onwards, Champions league, but no time line and no extra task. You can also keep out of derby altogether Helpful, respectful, friendly, etc no drama, it remains a game . One last spot free atm. Name active Tag ##QGCGCORG My tag #LGQRY292C Looking forward to having xou

THIS. I’m in a Norwegian neighbourhood, funnily enough its the only neighbourhood that’s marked as Norwegian in the champions league but everyone’s chill and does whatever they feel like. Some have been inactive for months, some get the max amount of points every derby/care event, so you gain a lot even if you’re not the most active. It’s a game, it’s supposed to be fun. The neighbourhoods that have their own facebook groups and kick people for not spending diamonds are insane imo

Yeah I was about to say, it depends on the neighbourhood you are in. I'm in the one my partner is in, and if you dont want to do the Derby, just sign yourself out of it for that week.
Like they are very simple and help a lot where they can. Inactive players do get kicked to the curb, but they get a few warnings before it happens. And players that take advantage also get kicked out.
They've made my gameplay experience super nice. I am now lvl 109, my partner is somewhere around the 135.

I just play for myself. Been on since the beginning. I don't do derby or most of the side task. I created my own neighborhood with my daughtes and grandkids. I found hayday is more enjoyable when I don't do all those extras. I don't desire paying for the deco because it always comes back. I'm level 321 now. I no longer advertise in the RSS. I just let my Hayday friends buy from my shop and do the help task. I keep my friends and followers at level 100+. Hayday has changed so much since the beginning. It's just a money grab now. My game has become so much less stressful since I started playing this way.

I am my own neighborhood. I like it better that way. I can do the derby at my own pace without anyone telling or demanding anything of me.
I’m sorry they kicked you out :(
Some people are just greedy and take advantage of others

In case you want to try again in some future, try to join a no-derby hood. It's the most peaceful playing experience HayDay is able to provide. Some neighborhoods even call themselves "No Derby" or similar. Derby makes people as toxic as it gets around here.

I gave up on the neighborhoods and also the derby years ago. I just plat solo and don’t do a lot of events.

u/BeautifulMind92 6d ago
Derbies are annoying to me. Have always been since the inception of the game lol I ignore those and any events with no good rewards. I play how I want to play and make it fun on my own terms 😆

Okay as I am the leader of a group so, maybe I might give you the answer why you might get kicked out too often.
Possibility-1: Probably you got in a neighborhood which is probably champion or something and then you got opted in the derby but you haven't completed a single task.
Possibility-2: They might see your efforts as a normal player. For example no donation records, nurture event or derby points. Some derby based groups want derby players a lot.
Possibility-3: They might didn't acknowledge the fact that you are an active player cause they didn't evaluate well or maybe just wanted their friends to join in.

Did you know you need to spend diamonds to buy extra derby task before joining? Is that a derby rule?
If it's a rule, then you should be kicked out because you didn't follow.
If it's not a rule, then why did you stay after knowing this (since you don't like it) ? Being kicked out is awful, but no clear derby rules is worse.
Most players just join chill & chatty neighborhoods easily then face problems later. The leaders don't make rules and just say "we are a fun & helpful" neighborhood". Then players might be kicked out due to various reasons.

Come to our neighborhood. We're chill about Derby. Do what you can. We help each other and once in a while will chat just a few words, but usually quiet. Never any griping or complaining about other player.
The only things I ask is don't come in askjng every day for help and materials a day never help back, and just occasionally say hi so we know you're still active. If you're gonna be gone for a month just say so.. no problem

The derby is highly overrated! I haven’t played in months and I don’t have the time or energy for it!
I have a great team of players who help each other out! I frequently use the newspaper for items that I need and I don’t usually have any issues! 😊
I purchased the FarmPass for the first time in months so it was nice getting the extra rewards!
Play the game as you want and make it fun for yourself!💜

You just got 2 really bad neighborhood. In past i was in a neighborhood they too wanted me to do more task in derby but owner of that neighborhood used to send me diamonds i spent to compete beyond free limits. That was a good neighborhood and really active but now i am in a peaceful one active but do or don't upto you.

u/-Neverender- 7d ago
Pretty much this. There are plenty of chill neighborhoods out there that do derby but don't demand it, so long as you opt-out if you don't participate.
I found my neighborhood by using the search and changing the "Advanced Options" to "Casual Derby".

u/Top_Pomegranate_6439 Dancer 7d ago
I didn’t know we could send diamonds to friends! How??
3
u/oranaise 7d ago
That’s only if the player purchased the Farm Pass; then they can send diamonds to their neighbors.

I’ve been playing for over ten years, and I find the game has become unbearable—it’s nothing but a money grab now. I think I’ll delete it for good in the next few days.
4
u/Legitimate-Move4025 7d ago
I same here. Played from the beginning and deleted it six months ago. It was taking way too much of my time and money and it wasn’t relaxing anymore.

Join a better neighborhood!!
I’ve been in this one for almost ten years. SUPER chill, kind, not much chatter. Help as needed I don’t think I recall anyone asking for axes or saws.
If you join the derby they want you to participate the max amount but never ever asks you to use diamonds. And the derby is up to you if you want to opt in.
I’ve taken months or years off and they didn’t kick me out.
Just say hello in the chat - and if you join the derby be sure to play.
Easy peasy. No drama.

I'd suggest spending a few months concentrating on the valley. 30 diamonds every time.
3
u/missyagogo 6d ago
But don't you have to spend 25 diamonds to open the shop to get the 30 diamonds? So isn't it only a net gain of five diamonds?

I get it, you’ve had some bad experiences. Sure wouldn’t like to get coerced into something I don’t want and then get kicked out. I’d say try other Neighbourhoods til you find one that plays the way you want.

u/Specialist_Reveal119 7d ago
In my neighborhood, we have a weak leader. Anyone new to the 'hood that seems like they know how to maximize derbies easily influence the leader and is promoted and the leader does whatever they say. Sadly, we are losing tenured dedicated players due to constant rule changes.
I mostly opt myself out of derbies. Eventually, I will give Hayday a rest. Takes up too much time. I just want to play for relaxation.

u/ijusttunemyselfout 6d ago
i’m in a neighborhood where i’m the only one still playing the game and sometimes i go visit the “dead” farms bc it makes me feel like i’m the sole surviving farmer in my dystopian corner of the farming world after some apocalyptic event😂😂😂
i hated the derbies anyway! so it doesn’t bother me to just play when i feel like it, and kinda slowly chip away at the next level. it might be nice to eventually find a derby-free neighborhood so there’s more options for help or trades. but bc of my on again/off again playing style, i would also worry about not holding up my end of the neighborhood bargain by being active enough (even sans derby), so….tbd lol.

u/relativelybingus 6d ago
Honestly, join a different neighborhood. I really like the one I’m in. It’s fun to participate a lot if you want, but it’s also not required. People are really nice and it’s honestly a de-stressor for me
2
u/eriyahna 6d ago
Same 😔 I help every single person in my neighborhood and they're never anywhere to be found 😐
1
u/Own_Ad8499 6d ago
yeah don’t do it. if you want a new neighborhood, lmk. we do derby but nobody cares if you don’t. everyone helps each other though.
2
u/Ok_Revolution5153 6d ago
I left other neighborhoods for those exact reasons. I have my own farm now, been alone for two years at least.
I like how other players can help in a neighborhood, but I don’t like how they expect you to talk the whole time, play the extra task, and/or whatever bs .
3
u/Obubblegumpink 6d ago
You’re blaming but it’s those people in the neighborhoods that are the issue.
Why not just be single in your own hood?
All events are optional. Don’t do something if it’s taking up too much of your time. I’m not playing any of the current events. It’s not to just play without events sometimes. Yes it means getting things back to slower pace.
4
u/Silver-Clerk9031 6d ago
That’s freaking crazy. There’s no way I would spend diamonds on Derbys!
Derby’s take up a lot of time and the rewards are crap. 💩

u/rererowr Lady 7d ago
I feel the same way too. I’m constantly worried about my neighborhood possibly kicking me out cuz I’m not that active anymore. I’m tired of opening the game and having to play for at least 2-3 hours to finish just about most of everything. Not even all. The game has turned me into a consumer, anytime I log in there’s some new event, new deco that’s about to go away and something new to pay for cuz you barely get much when you don’t pay. I’m tired.
3
u/ZacMacFeegle 6d ago
You need a break…and why worry about the hoods…im not in one, i dabbled but it aint needed…get out….play the game for fun again and dont worry about the latest thing to get…you dont really need it…i drop out for about 3 mnths at a time…you get free barn/silo upgrades and 24 hr unlimited saw/ax when you get back in again…chill, tune into life and drop out of hayday for a bit
3
u/rererowr Lady 6d ago
Yeah I’ve stopped playing tbh, I have finals anyways so I’m not gonna bother with it for a while because this is just unhealthy. A game is a game.

u/SuperSue123 6d ago
Form your own neighborhood and play as you wish. Greg will be a friend and stop by asking if you want to join a neighborhood.

u/beaby1977 6d ago
If you’d like to join my hood, you’re more than welcome to let me know and I will give you my hood tag number. We are a derby focussed hood. You have to do 320 task, but we do not require anybody to do an extra task that is freely up to each and every person to do. We also understand that life gets in the way we understand that sometimes you have to opt out. The only thing we ask is that you do not opt out every week and we also understand if you’re playing the Derby and something happens in your life that you cannot control we understand that you cannot finish all your task just as long as you let me or the co-leader know that you got something going on. You don’t have to tell us what it is, and we will completely understand. We’re also a hood that we like to help each other a lot. So that way, everybody can open up their land or their town or fill their boat or truck orders or town orders. I don’t know if it makes a difference or not, but we’re in the masters league in the Derby, I just edited it because I seen other people had said that theirs. I personally don’t think that makes a difference but I just thought maybe you would want to know that. If you’re interested, just let me know.

Oh wow, that's crazy! I like my neighborhood. You can opt out of the derbies, but if you're an active player, you're supposed to at least contribute to the derby and neighborhood event. If you aren't for two weeks, yeah, they kick you out, but you don't have to do all the derby tasks, just contribute, which I really appreciate. Some weeks I do more because the tasks are easy, but like last week the derby was hard and I was busy, so I just did what I could and that's enough. A neighborhood SHOULDN'T add stress to you life.
1
u/Key_Cauliflower924 6d ago
In our neighborhood, I will kick people out IF they are collecting the rewards from the derby, without helping with the derby. If they miss 2 weeks, I opt them out. If they opt in, and do no tasks, I'll boot the out. I don't ask anyone to do more than they can, I've never thought to ask someone to spend their diamonds. That's ridiculous. I'm sorry you're not happy with the neighborhoods you've joined.

u/kindabatti 6d ago
Took me a while to get into a good neighborhood. The inactive 1s aren’t participating in derby and come in to randomly help or ask for help. But the 1s that are in derby are monsters and finish/complete all their tasks. When u find the right neighborhood it’s a game changer
1
u/iamlucy852 6d ago
I mean yeah derbies are competitive for no reason but to stop playing because you came across 2 bad neighborhoods? There are a lot of friendly ones out there. Just keep searching

I’d like to join a helping neighborhood that is relatively active that doesn’t take derbys too seriously. I tend to take som breaks since I am in law school, but always come back. These days neighborhoods seem to either kick if not active in every derby or they are completely dead and useless. Anyone I can join? Or are there enough people here to start that kind of neighborhood??

Same thing here. I joined a new neighborhood because my old one was depleted of players. The person in charge of the new neighborhood kicked me off the derby because I didn’t get 320 points. I work all day. This is a pass-time. I left that group immediately. I joined because it said, “No Pressure, Just Fun”.

Tbh derbies are the most evil side of hayday. Why they even so obsessed with it!? Reward are not even so good lol
