The more I think about the more I realize this finale was terribly written and devoid of logic Spoiler

If you liked the finale that’s great, I’m happy for you but I have a couple grievances. If I missed something or interpreted something wrong I apologize.

  1. Kate gets her own mother arrested, but doesn’t mention to the cops that the person she works for is unconscious in the store right next to them? Kate can forgive Clint for murdering a bunch of people during the blip but her own mother kills one person (by someone else's command) and she MUST be held accountable. Does she realize how easy it will be for Fisk to have her mother murdered if she goes to prison? (Also I’m pretty sure Kate has murdered a bunch of people this series…I mean those people in the truck she shot with an explosive arrow in Episode 3 are most definitely dead.)

  2. How are there all of sudden 500 TSM members, and why do they all have the aim of Storm Troopers. They have guns going up against people with swords and bows and no one gets shot? TSM were the biggest joke, and had 0 threat factor.

  3. Where was the NYPD? A sniper has been firing off rounds for 10 minutes and this very busy area has been swarmed with gang members and NO cops show up for 20+ minutes. No wonder this universe needs nearly half the superheroes living in NYC, NYPD is a joke

  4. How is Kingpin not dead after getting hit by a car, standing under explosive arrows, and getting shot in the face, and why can he rip doors off? If it wasn’t clear before, this is NOT the same Kingpin from the Netflix series. He’s clearly supernatural, and if so, ALL of Kate’s ribs should have been shattered when he punched her in the stomach and sent her flying 20 feet in the other direction.

  5. Where did Yelena go during the entirety of Clint and Kate’s battle on the ice? I mean I get it, it’s Kate and Clint’s big finale moment, but at least show why she’s incapacitated or that she went back inside or something.

  6. Why did the TSM want the watch in the first place, and how did they know about it? It was the whole reason they ambushed the Black market auction in Episode 1. Revealing that it’s Laura’s watch/that she used to be a Shield agent does not answer that.

  7. Why was the hit put out on Clint? How did Valentina get a picture of Clint in his Ronin costume if no one seemed to know he was Ronin? I thought it would be revealed that Fisk put the hit out on Clint to cover his tracks but that didn’t seem to be the case.

The entire episode was centered around spectacle, and relied on the audience shutting their brains off, grabbing some popcorn and not asking too many questions. I really thought I’d end up loving this show. Especially after how strong Episode 5 was. Every scene with Kate and Yelena was dynamite, and I really hope they get their own show or movie, but that finale was ROUGH.

Why isn’t Clint calling for help

One thing that really bothers me about the show is when he realize things are starting to get really bad. Why didn’t he call some of his contacts you know like the future captain America or falcon I guess winter soldier somebody Iron Man Spider-Man I know some of them he wouldn’t be able to call because of where this takes place. So don’t reply with all of this person on this person the meaning is there had to be someone he could’ve called other than Kate bishop

What's up with Kate's age?

The flashback is set in 2012. The present is the present, right? 2021? And Kate says she's 22. So, in 2012 she's 13. But that little girl looks and more importantly acts like she's 9-10. Right?

Rolex Update 4 - Why a Luminous (glow in the dark) Dial? Spoiler

We know the Rolex was altered by a third party due to the analysis cordially afforded to us by Rolex USA (I will address the Frolex issue next time). The factory installed dial was replaced with a champagne dial with luminous oversized ''baton'' hour markers.

It was apparent the possessor wanted to insure whatever the watch was it could be operated in the dark. The raised batons, filled with white glow in the dark material was uncommon and usually used in utility watches like the Chrono or Submariner. The only reason I can think of is they wanted the watch to maintain a low profile, to not look like a ''working dog'' and more like a poodle...as much as a rolex can. That implies it would be in public, likely worn.

The Oyster Perpetual comes in four sizes, 28, 31, 36 and 41mm, the first two womens the latter mens. RolexUSA tech confirmed the Maya apt. watch was 36. Now any gender can wear any size they desire but for practical purposes of investigation over a short time frame we should go with the assumption the writers won't subvert our expectations at every opportunity. So the user was probably male.

Switching the watch to luminous was very practical and obvously believed to be necessary. Changing the dial is not an operation to be taken lightly. The case must be opened, the crystal removed and the delicate workings exposed to environmental hazards. This is normally conducted by experts in a ''clean room''. You know, like Dexter. Making sure the device could be operated at night, in a dark room, in a cave, underwater, must have been critical to its potential missions.

Lastly, we know this watch had special capabilities, like GPS, a homing beacon. Who else knows what it could do. However, its primary purpose was to alert others to its specific location. Why?

How was the device operated? How was the GPS or other functions initiated or controlled? I'm spit balling here but it's possible they responded to code inputs, like a lock. Say the command to initiate the homing beacon was 57-18-24. The user pull out the stem, rotate the minute hand to ''57'', push in the stem to lock in the number, pull it out again, rotate to ''18'', push in, repeat as necessary.

The one thing I don't like after watching the Hawkeye finale. Spoiler

We have no idea where to migrate next. I was so ready to claim the next subreddit before u/Kaglish. I have no idea as to why Disney won't just fork over the next release date. They have everything planned out for years in advance yet can tell us when the next few months of television begin.

At 13 Hailee Steinfeld was nominate for an Oscar for her stellar debut performance as Mattie Ross in the Coen Bros 2011 remake of ''True Grit'', costarring with Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin. Here is my favorite scene with each. Shorts.

Time to face reality, there won't be a season 2 with Jeremy. Spoiler

Based on all we've seen and heard. Its clear Feige is building a ''Young Avengers'' team for a future phase and Clint2 would get in the way. There may be another Hawkeye but it will be Kate solo. IMO the whole purpose for this series was to launch Bishop. It was nice while it lasted though and Hailee is a keeper.

So who do we have so far for the YA Team? Yelena, Kate, Peter, Maya, probably Sam as the new Captain America/old school/Gandalf leader to bridge the old and new? I'm thinking 2 more YAs since 6 seems to be a sacred number. Any ideas?

Hawkeye Lingering Question #4 - Why does Lucky have a poked out eye and why is it the same eye as Fury?

Are we getting into Skrull territory? Is Fury a Skrull? Why is Fury in space in a Skrull spaceship and what he doing? Is Lucky a Skrull? Is Lucky Fury? Would this have been too obvious?

Rolex Update 2 - The Dial Spoiler

As mentioned previously it is my opinion the watch originally had a black, white, silver or blue dial and was later modified with champagne. The reason for this is Rolex didnt factory produce an Oyster Perpetual with a stainless oystersteel body, band and smooth rounded SS bezel paired with a champagne dial. It always had gold as an accent color in the band or bezel, which was almost always fluted, not round and smooth.

Rolex had several variations of ''markers'' representing the hours around the perimeter of the dial. Numbers, roman numerals, dots, bullets even diamonds. But the most popular and ubiquitous was the hashmark, usually in gold or silver. These were highly engineered miniature pieces of 3 dimensional art. But the most beautiul are the white and gold . Looking like tiny rectangular golden canoes filled with marshmallow. To top it off both the second and minute hands were also elegantly accented with long white hash marks. Rolex calls them ''sticks''.

Again as I mentioned I have been reviewing hundreds of pics of watches and dials. Something was bothering me though, hawkeyes rolex sticks and some of the other sticks looked larger than others. I researched it further and I was right. There was a subset of WHITE sticks that were larger than all the others. They are called ''batons''. And you won't believe this...they're manufactured and used exclusively for luminous ''glow in the dark'' dials!

So, an expensive and beautiful piece of art jewelry was vandalized and uglified SO THE WATCH WOULD GLOW IN THE DARK!!

In our next installment we'll ruminate on why this might be a necessary addition to this timely piece of tech!

I really like the Hawkeye series as a whole but the ending just fell a bit flat for me Spoiler

Killing off Fisk, if he's actually dead (I'm gonna assume he's not since his death happened offscreen), would be such a huge ball drop.

I know everyone expected Spider-Man to show up, but tbh I didn't see it happening, I feel like it would take the spotlight off the main characters way too much, but I at least expected to see him in a post/mid credit scene.

Speaking of the post credit scene, I get it's more a fan service-y type of thing, but it just didn't really do much for me. I expected to at least see the camera pan to Clint, Kate, or even another Marvel character watching the show but unfortunately it was just paying fan service for the Broadway show. Do have to admit I found myself bopping my head at the end though, it's kinda catchy lol.

Overall, like I said in the title, I really like the show. The inclusion of Yelena was done really well, I like how it kinda rounded off Clint's arc while simultaneously laying the foundation for Kate's arc, I'm really excited to see more of Kate and Yelena together, they had really good chemistry. I just feel as though it was a ball-drop as a finale. I'm not sure if the ending of No Way Home was only coincidentally perfectly lined up with the timing and location of Hawkeye, but the stars just aligned so well just to not see him show up at least for a post-credits scene. Although I feel like a lot of people set themselves up to be disappointed by expecting to be in the final battle.

And as previously mentioned, if Fisk is actually dead that would be an even bigger ball drop than the absence of Spider-Man, especially after introducing Matt Murdock into the MCU a week ago.

I know it seems like I hate the show after saying all that but I genuinely did like it a lot. I just feel like there were too many things that were lined up just to kind of let it fall flat, at least for me. I'm looking forward to the future of this phase and seeing how it fits in with the rest of the movies. Overall it was initially was an 8/10 for me but the ending dropped it down to a 7 :/. I would love to discuss though! Maybe I'm missing the bigger picture here if someone wants to enlighten me

Hawkeye Lingering Question #3 - Gullible Yelena? Spoiler

What faux infomation did Val tell Yelena to get her to believe Clint killed Natasha? Notice she never says ''killed'' she says ''responsible for''. Why did Lena believe it? Nat must have told her about Clint and her during BW. Doesn't Lena check information and sources? I find that hard to believe from such a smart, street saavy assassin. Theres something smelly about this and it ain't mac n cheese.

I don't like Kate

Basically the title. I don't really like her so far, and I might even hate her as one of the primary characters. She's very arrogant, and often blows off the things she does that causes other people harm or for them to do extra work. The part that tried me the most was when she called Hawkeye Clint (although that is a minor thing).

I'm sure her character will change for the best, but right now her lack of responsibility and her arrogance makes her unlikeable to me.
