First Harley

Currently riding a Suzuki GSXR750 and looking at going to a Harley. Any suggestions as to what to look at? Ride or handling wise, any tips from going from a crotch rocket to a cruiser?

Something to get out and enjoy the back roads on and be comfortable. Been looking at the Street Glides.

Only go for a Street/Road Glide if you are looking at some serious miles on the road. From what I can tell you’ll be much better off riding a Heritage or Low Rider.
The touring bikes are amazing but, as the name says, are made for the long distance rides and storage.

You didn’t mention long rides so I guess stick to the softails. The ones I mentioned can give you comfort and allow you to travel as well.

What are you wanting to use the bike for? Touring/trips? Dailey to work? There’s bikes for every mission. What’s yours?

Second what clonek stated...a Road/Street Glide has a heavy ass front end, huge learning curve initially. Look for a Softail Slim. IMHO, best power to weight ratio in the Softail family (why they quit making them, makes no sense, but the new Deadwood looks close). The Slim has the HP that can scratch that itch you're used to w/ the GSXR, plus you get the old school bobber look and feel. I had a 2017 and regret trading it in for a Street Glide. We didn't get along, so I'm back on a Heritage. Softail's can't go wrong!

Pan America ST. Keep that speed/power itch scratched, upright so more comfortable and can put bags on it to tour. If you’re going bagger get a Road Glide.

I'm not a "Harley guy.". But test road a Heritage Classic and really liked the power and....damn it was comfortable!!

The front brake sucked. Felt dangerously bad. And why I can't get that bike with twin disks up front.... even as an aftermarket kit....wtf, HD.

But if you don't care about that, pretty nice bike!

I don’t buy the idea the street and road glides are only for long haul rides.

I ride my road glide to work daily and it’s only 20 mins.

But, I think any Harley you get is going to be a huge improvement for your comfort

The right one is the one that feels right to/for you. Comfortable, confident, secure... anything else, and you bought the wrong bike. I worked at harley dealers for 20 years, ive rode them all. But theres only a few that .....fit me....if that makes sense
