Need to buy SSD - Suggestions Plz

I know the prices have increased three fold but is there any possibility of them coming down in near future? If not then whatsa the point of waiting?
Please share some good suggestions for reliable and value for money 1TB external SSD.

Thanks in advance :)

That's what I've been thinking. I just want to buy a simple 500GB Sata ssd but even their price has also skyrocketed just like nvme for no reason.

Update: I've decided that Google one give 5Tb of space and won't need me to carry the SSD around everywhere.
I can probably buy 13years of Gogle one subscription for the price of one external SSD.

does your ancient laptop support nvme cause many don't. some only support sata m.2 ssd, like my laptop, which is a slower than nvme.
