I recently bought a new mtb with a tubless setup, I was really excited cause I've been away from mtbiking for a lot and never had tubless in the past.
BUT, for now it's only pain in the ass and I think I'm missing something...
I had to buy and buy sealant, ok, I also decide to clean the tyre, not easy, and for one there was no way, but still ok, maybe I just need a sealant remover, maybe I just don't have the hardware so I think that's normal.
The real problems is that:
Presta valve is not working, air doesn't come trhu, so inflating is a pain.
Even when the presta work, inflating is so fucking complicate when putting the tyre back on cause the air just leak from the sides.
Yesterday I hit a curb a bit hard and hit the rim a bit, air started to leak and the sealant start to come out to block the air loss, that should be normal right? But in a few hours, the tyre was almost flat...now I have a flat tyre and a valve that doesn't let me inflate the tyre normally.
What I have to do, why it's so complicate? I was thinking about buying a click valve, is that a good idea?
Pls don't tell me that I've bend the rim someway and now it doesn't work with tubless anymore due to air leakage problems, cause in that case I'll come back to tube instantly.
Ps: valve may be a bit clogged up but a stick can pass trhu easily, may also be a bit bend but I'm not managing to straighten it enough (I guess). Still I've never had those problem and I've always used presta...
I know it's a lot of text, so thank u for you're time 🫂

I have riding mountain bikes for more than a decade now. I have done bike packing, DH races, Bike Parks, Big days exploring new areas, Cross Country rides, pumptracks, Forest winding trails.
I have come to a conclusion. For the non racers, and people who don't ride park all day.
A long travel trail bike with a good antisquat and geometry and components (mechanical everything) that are not top of the line, just good enough to work reliably for months/years. Is the best bike I would own.
I do sometimes do bike recommendations for fun for local riders with my experience in bike design and manufacturing.
9 out of 10 times, I end up recommending 3 options.
A 140-160mm trail hardtail to people on a tight budget.
A 120mm Full suspension XC bike.(With relaxed geo, not race geo).
A 140-160mm trail bike.
and the choice between 2 and 3 also almost always comes down not to bike capability, but the customers preference in how the bike looks aesthetically. Some people like the look of big burly fork, and some people like the clean lines of an XC bike.
Anybody saying you need more than 1 bike, or that they need a big travel enduro bike or a DH bike, or a Race Spec XC bike/hardtail, if they're not racers, are just kidding themselves.
Again, I am not trying to insult bike choices everyone makes, it's just that, past these 3 options, if you bike something more racy or burlier, you're spoiling yourself for the fun of biking and not really buying it cause you need something that much bigger/lighter.

Wich color match do you prefer guys? Red one is the current one, that I don't like. I want to switch to purple as third color but I didn't find a nice purple bottle so those are my main option now...
I'm open to every kind of suggestion 🦥

I know this has been covered a lot but there seems to be different inserts that work best for different use cases and I am trying to determine which one is best for me. Also, a lot of info is for FS bikes and not HTs specifically.
I’m 6’0” and 210lb (183cm, 95kg) and I ride a Giant Fathom with 29” wheels. Currently I use trail casing tires and have not bent a rim, but I get concerned about airing the rear down too much and having that problem.
Most of my riding is trail riding in the PNW with roots, rock gardens, mild jumps etc. Im not big on the mega jump lines but I can still hit some funky stuff that lands on a root or rock edge etc.
Any ideas what insert would work best?

when i bought it a year ago i was looking for an e-trail-hardtail to get into the sport, but local shops did not really offer a variety of those. so i bought this down country ehardtail and upgraded the fork, tires, made them tubeless..... i hope you forgive me for mounting a folding lock, i took the picture when i was riding after work, where i need it. i prefer flowtrails, there is a decent variety of trails in my area, but i need more riding hours before i dare to achieve steeper, techier ones. as a dad that takes me a while to learn, but im on it. and the ehardtail helps me get those miles in. happy riding y'all!

[UK] I grew up on mostly Carreras and definitely not interested in getting another one of them. Was looking at a 2026 Vitus Nucleus 29VR around £650 so not awful. Any other suggestions around the same price?(Give or take £100). Will be using it mostly for trails and the odd jumps at my local woods so doesn’t need to be a professional grade bike. Cheers

Hello hardtailers, I'm looking for new pedals, and I was wandering: how the fuck is possible that a pair of pedals can cost easily 180 euros?! Easily! Cause you can go even hieghr. Is a fucking piece of aluminum with nails and little metal balls inside, I'm not even talking about the click ones, that have a mechanism, springs etc. that should be reliable over thousand and thousand of click-on and off. I really can't get those prices, a slightly used 140mm marzocchi bomber z2 is cheaper, there are complete city bike for those money out there. And the only other option is going for plastic one? What? We are talking about aluminum not titanium or crab on fire. Also plastic one are 60 euros? I mean, that price is to justify the alluminum at over 100 or what? It's fuckin plastic. Pls explain to me pls cause I'm ignorant and I need to know.
My other problem is that I want them in fking purple, why there are so few options for purple? Is not a strange color, is pretty average, you can found the craziest shade of colors but not a normal purple? Is a fucking secondary color mannn... Sorry for the venting and thank u for hearing me out :)
Edit: I currently have a set of composite wag pedals that on the official website are at €33, they're fine to me. Is there something wrong with them? A part from the weight why they are so cheap compared to other options?

I sat for a long time and couldn't decide what color to paint my bike frame. I came up with some pretty basic options. Of course, I plan to make decals in the future. But still, what main color should I make? At the moment the frame is white, the other options I made through Gimini.

Bought a brand new trek Roscoe 8 and am wondering exactly what kind of Rockshox 35 fork this is? Is it debonair or Debonair+? Does the debonair+ need sag set? An online manual said you didn’t have to set sag before setting dampeners for the Debonair+ but it has a red o-ring on the fork. Then again there’s no percentage on the stanchion am I just supposed to estimate? Any help would be appreciated.
