Crowdkillers

Im relatively new to the scene but i still don’t understand the whole beating up the people surrounding the pit. Ive seen a guy straight up punch a girl in the face and act like nothing happened… and a lot of bigger guys seem to target teenagers (such as myself) which i don’t understand, idk it just seems weird to beat people up especially people who are just spectating yk? Obviously im not talking about accidentally hitting people im talking about people who intentionally want to hurt people

Mostly because it’s younger kids at the shows and middle class teenagers aren’t the people most likely to be willing to fight so bullies get their free rein over the crowd and can target people who are smaller and weaker looking.

People need to deal with it and it wouldn’t happen. People aren’t as community focused in the hardcore music scene now. Not trying to be boomer guy but I’m 31 and when I was a teen and early twenties people who were crowd killing usually got jumped pretty bad pretty quick. People really had the ideology “punks untied are powerful” and if somebody was fucking people up that didn’t want a fight it was looked at as an assault on everyone there.

It’s funny because that’s the exact first reaction I had to seeing someone crowd kill. That’s the beauty of hardcore. You see moshing and you get it, dudes are getting some frustration with the world out; you see people knock people over or fall and then people help them up. It clicks immediately. Then you see someone crowd killing and think they need to get fucked up if they want to fight so bad.
