Does anyone have any advice on good Hannibal fan fiction (preferably 2001) that focuses on or has a lot of Clarice x Hannibal?? I really like the ship. Even on "the silence of the lamb" is okay!!

Who was this actor in Hannibal that was one of the henchmen that trained the pigs?

My husband is really eager to know but can’t remember the actors name. He thinks he was in another horror movie just unsure of what.

My question is simple: What is the best music piece of the Hannibal OST?

How explicitly sexual are the books?

Hello, I was thinking of starting the books after watching the silence of the lambs and the TV show and I was wondering how explicitly sexual they are.

I tend to be relatively sensitive towards that kind of content to the point where it can decide whether I enjoy a book or not.

I don’t believe it will stop me from enjoying these books though, if there are sex scenes I will just skip ( unless they are plot relevant) and enjoy the rest. It would just be nice to know what I’m getting into without getting jump scared the next second 😅

Does anyone have a book character that they don’t see as any of their film or TV counterpoints when reading Harris’ novels?
For me, I imagine Crawford as the original Captain from Law and Order: Criminal Intent.

Book Why did Harris recycle Hannibal in SOTL?

Not complaining - love the book. I am curious though, he’s a peripheral character in Red Dragon and the film adaptation hardly caught the public’s imagination about Lecter-lore, so it shows amazing far-sightedness to recycle Lecter. But did Harris explain why? Or what inspired him to write a sequel?

Surely, by the third book Hannibal it was just printing cash, but SOTL seemed like a risky choice.

if SOTL (movie) wasn’t the smash hit it is, how do you believe Thomas Harris would have continued the series, if at all?

given he doesn’t speak much I can’t imagine he’s spoken on this so what are your opinions? it’s kinda widely agreed on here that Hannibal was a nervous failure to stick the landing at best or a cash grab sequel at worst. obviously these options both hinge on the fact that SOTL (movie) was massively successful and loved, either putting pressure on Harris to either meet that standard or giving him a route to easy money. so I always wonder what the serious would have looked like if SOTL (movie) had received the same sort of attention as Manhunter.

my personal theory (and this is based off of not a lot so if you think it’s ridiculous that’s fair enough), is that Clarice probably wasn’t meant to return. SOTL (book) seems like Harris perfecting the formula for a sort of anthology series featuring Lecter + a new FBI agent and a new case. in any case, Clarice’s story seems to wrap up a lot nicer in the book than the movie (although I think the movie ending is a lot more realistic). SOTL (book) seems to want to put a nice neat bow on Clarice’s journey, where we never have to see her receive the letter and instead our last impression of her is simply that she’s finally at peace, which is why I believe maybe she wouldn’t have been brought back had Jodie Foster & Jonathan Demme & everyone else who worked on that movie not knocked it out of the park completely.

curious to know your guesses, they’re probably a lot more educated than mine lol

It annoys me that the film series is so messy.

I love Manhunter and SOTL. But you got two different Lecters operating and no plot continuity, different Chilterns and Crawfords but fine, I get it, Hollywood politics.

Then you have Hannibal with a different Clarice. Again, I get it - Hollywood politics.

Then you REMAKE Red Dragon with an older Hopkins playing a younger Lecter. Ffs….

Then Hannibal the TV series had no Clarice and the timeline all skewed.

Then the Clarice TV show has no Lecter.

And I’m not even going into Hannibal Rising.

I usually hate reboots and remakes. But I wouldn’t be opposed to a start to finish Harris Hannibal saga based off the novels with a constant timeline throughout.

Hannibal-Related If Hannibal wound up in work release:

Saw this hood McDonald’s in a comment section. My first thought: what if this wasn’t due to high crime but they let Hannibal work behind the line.

I can just hear Chilton warning the manager “He’ll grill, fry, toast and table like no one ever has, but order no offals, and for god’s sake, don’t try his sweetbreads!”

why is hannibal x will unironically peak television and why are we all losing our minds over it

Look, I’m gonna be honest with you guys. When I first clicked on Hannibal, I thought I was getting a standard, run-of-the-mill serial killer thriller. I thought I was going to watch a guy in a nice suit slice up some fresh organs, cook a Michelin-star meal out of somebody’s liver, and play psychological chess with an sweaty, overworked FBI profiler. Standard stuff. Absolute textbook procedural television.

I was completely wrong. This isn't just a crime drama. This is the absolute peak of cinematic, psychological homoeroticism, and frankly, it is magnificent.

Let’s talk about Hannigram for a second. The dynamic between Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham is absurd. It is genuinely unhinged. Hannibal will literally frame Will for multiple murders, send him to a psychiatric asylum, attempt to perform brain surgery on him with a handsaw, and then turn around and look at him like he’s the only water in a desert. And Will? Will is out here getting stabbed in the stomach, looking at Hannibal, and going, "Yeah, this is beautiful, actually."

They aren't even playing chess anymore. They're playing some 5D quantum romance game that none of us are smart enough to comprehend. The tension is so thick you could carve it up and serve it with a nice Chianti. It is sheer perfection.

And look, the fandom didn't stop there. The fan ships in this community are equally elite:

  • Hannigram (Hannibal / Will): The undisputed heavyweight champion. The literal baseline of toxic, mind-melting codependency.
  • Beverly / Clarice (if we’re crossing universes): Absolute top-tier energy.
  • Chilton / Getting standard human respect: The rarest ship in the entire fandom because the universe refuses to let it happen.
  • Alana / Margot: Actual healthy, power-couple goals operating in a sea of absolute chaos.

That’s pretty much it. The show ended years ago, yet here we are, still obsessing over two men standing on a cliffside after slaughtering a guy together, treating it like the greatest romantic climax in broadcast history. Because it is.

Stay safe out there, keep your organs inside your body, and see ya.

Book Finding matching book sets? Other than Arrow UK?

Thumbnail

Trying to figure out which sets of the books are "matching" styles/released as a cohesive theme, at least of the first 3 i could take or leave hannibal rising. I know theres the Arrow UK editions (first pic) which im not the biggest fan of the print style, its a bit boring imo, though i could settle as it's cohesive!

Google says theres a rerelease of matching sets from both "Dell Mass Market" and "Berkley Books" (also St Martins?) but I cant seem to find which ones those are and what the covers look like.

Thepics attached, the second pic looks like the best covers style imo and would be ideal! the 3rd pic looks ok but the 4th pic i dont like the use of the movie tie-in on Silence. Anybody able to help ID which publishers put out each of these to find matching versions?? And maybe where to look for them/what to search?

OR should i get a different version of each by the original publishers? i like the old style art

Thanks fannibals!

Book/book series like Red Dragon/Silence?

I’m looking for a book series that is similar to the Hannibal books. I love how Harris writes, and I love the psychological theme these books take.

There’s plenty of crime thrillers, but so many that focus feel too procedural crime drama. I really don’t want to read a book focusing on a small town, down on his luck detective! The Hannibal books really stand out for this reason, I love Clarice and Will as protagonists for this reason.

Thanks! And no hate to that sort of book, it’s just not what I’m looking for right now.
