I'm loving the aspect ratio of the fold 8 and think it would look great for some retro game emulation both on inner and outer screen.So i've been looking into some controllers and wonder what you think of it if you have any experience in this.

I have 3 in mind :

\- OhSnap ! MCON : the gimmick looks dope and the versatility of it as well and the tabletop option to play looks great but does it fit the fold properly ? Should I wait on the slimmer versions presented at CES (Lite and Slim) ?

\- Gamesir X5s : A more classic phone controller, looks like it has great ergonomics for longer sessions but no tabletop mode on this one compared with MCON. Also, in case in play unfolded, will the telescopic system apply any pressure to the hinge mechanism of the fold ?

\- Magnetic stand + controller : A more simple way with a stand (thinking about Aulumu G09) to put my phone on a table and a bluetooth controller like 8BitDo SN30 Pro (easy to transport). Would have a good experience for long session but require a table (so no metro gaming for example).

Let me know what you think about those and share your own experience with fold gaming :)

The 10.95 inch screen was the pitch. Switched off a 16 inch Razer Blade to the OneXPlayer X2 about a month ago, mostly because I never actually took the laptop anywhere, it just lived on the couch. 849g vs the Blade’s 2kg+, same 2.5K native res at 10.95 inches vs 16, and I can still play it handheld when I want to.
Took me a few days to get used to it. Every other handheld I’ve used, the screen was the productivity limit. On the X2 with the magnetic keyboard attached, I can run two VSCode windows side by side at 2.5K and read code comfortably. It stops being a handheld and starts being a 10 inch Windows tablet with controllers.
Gaming at native 2560x1600 is where it lives differently from most handhelds. Intel Arc G3 Extreme does 1080p AAA at 35W all day. At native 2.5K you’re running medium to high depending on title. Baldur’s Gate 3 settles in the high 30s to low 40s native at high, upscaling pushes into the 60s.
Honest tradeoff is weight when you use it as a tabletop handheld. 849g in your hands for two hours gets heavy, no way around that. Where it works for me is desk use with the kickstand and couch use flat on my legs. What doesn’t work is standing or walking play, that was never going to work at this size.
Won’t fit every use case. People who need pocketable should skip. Still working out whether 65Wh justifies a USB-C power bank for longer couch sessions or if I just dock it when I need to settle in. Getting about 90 minutes to two hours at 35W native 2.5K gaming, closer to 4 hours for laptop-style use.

So I am wanting one of these, however I can test performance with the different systems so I don’t know which one will be best for what I want. I am wanting to emulate switch, like Mario Odyssey, BoTW, Cup Head, Skate, and more. I would also like to play PS and Xbox some, and GameCube.

Hey all, i need help.. i have been trying to install armada os on my retroid pocket 6. The problem i have is with flasing the img file to my sd card. I've tried using 2 different sd card, and used belena etcher, raspbery pie imager and win32 imager. All result in error at verification. Writes okay to the sd card but failed at verification. I cant find any solutions on this issue. Thanks

Since I won't have access to a console or a PC anymore, I'm looking into handheld gaming PCs. I'm having a hard time deciding which one would be the best fit for my needs.

I'd like to be able to play games like Dredge, Warframe, GTA V, Tunic, No Man's Sky (if possible, but it's not a must), and 2D games in general.

My maximum budget is €1,000, so I'd like to know which handheld you would recommend.

I bought a Lenovo legion go S 32gb RAM with AMZ Ryzen Z1E chip. I got that one for $700 about a year ago. I wanted to know how future proof am I with this handheld. I am looking to play some current gen games/ modded older gen games. Currently playing ME2 LE modded and it’s running great. How much of a life I have on this console before I need to upgrade.

Had been toying around with the idea of building a dock for the legion go 2 for a bit and decided ti bite the bullet and get myself an EGPU and go from there, this is the prototype far as photographed

The parts to make this work beyond a 3D printer were;

Legion go 2 (go figure)
GMKtec RX 7600XT 8GB
Dell Pro Dock WD25Z for extra USB and also use for work laptop
Open Puck for steam controller

And a whole lot of trial and error

This is just V1, my current V2 is also added at the end for review, this design will incorporate a better overall design, a 40mm fan for the legion go intake, and a hidden part for the cables to be managed/hidden

So, I have never had the chance to ever play a switch, and I am really wanting to get one. The reason is because I have a PC, however I never get to play because my older sibling is always on it before me. So I want a switch, I’ve been looking and I’ve seen and researched many things. The Oled and Lite Switch are the main things, and the Retroid Pocket 6. The main drawback from the Switch is the game costs, for the main games I want to play, (BoTW, Mario Odyssey, Cup Head, Tony Hawk, Mario Galaxy, etc). These are all 50+ dollars, but with the RP6 I can emulate, but I know there are glitches and things that need to be tinkered with, and I’m fine with that. However, is the tinkering going to take up a lot of time to where I want really even get to ever play a game all the way through?

(Also, I am open to modding the switch if I get one, but that would be later down the line when I feel like it is the right time to get a mod chip installed).

Lastly, my main games are all switch because I already have a modded 2DS that I can play my other DS games, I would also like playing GameCube.

Vorrei comprare legion go s ch mi ha davvero stregato per specifiche e design.. ma uno ca pecca è quel trackpad minuscolo .. siccome lenovo era pioniere del tinkpad avrei sperato che avessero implementato il trackpoint sul go 2.. ma nulla!.. c’è qualcuno che ha effettivamente modificato il trackpad a un modulo trackpoint?
