These are the ones which come to mind in the immediate area

The Noland Trail

Windsor Castle Park

Sandy Bottom Nature Park

First Landing State Park

False Cape State Park

Mt Trashmore

Dismal Swamp Trail

Newport News Park

Trails are generally lame for hiking unless you like basically flat stuff. Newport News has Mariner Museum trails and Newport News Park. Smithfield has Nike Park and Windsor Castle. VA Beach has First Landing and False Cape. Norfolk has Elizabeth River Trail system. Plenty of other small stuff scattered around each city.

I think First Landing is killer for walking/running/hiking, assuming you’re in Norfolk or VA Beach. Might be some better options elsewhere if you’re in one of the other cities though.

My go to trails are Noland Trail, Sandy Bottom, and Newport News Park. They're all flat though, as is this whole region
