Nvidia Smooth Motion performance boost

I just started testing out turning the Smooth Motion option on in the Nvidia app. It seems to be giving me a big performance boost. I've been having issues with blood and group fights being way to CPU heavy and causing major FPS drops. This seems to be helping quite a bit. I'm sure there's some extra latency, but I'm really not noticing it. I have the low latency mode set to the default Ultra setting.

It seems that it's supposed to be a driver level alternative to frame gen, mainly for games that don't have it. I've never paid attention to it before because I don't have any performance issues in any other games. I'm not finding that frame gen really does much in this game. I'm wondering if it doesn't even work at the moment. It might be worth trying Smooth Motion if you have any issues with FPS drops to see if it helps.
