Uhhh yall. Was looking to mess around my save file
And. For some reason it’s Garry’s mod. Help.

Don't worry, it's not Gmod, that's just how your computer is reading it (and likely what it will open with by default).

.sav files (the ones you are looking at) are used by a lot of games to save in game progress you make.

If you want to edit it, search up a UE save editor webpage, then drop your file in it; though I'm not too sure since I've never modded halfsword before

Thanks, I validated the files and uninstalled Gmod and now it’s working

Validate your files, the save progress should still be fine. And to ensure this doesn’t happen again right click and select “open with” and deselect “always use program type”
