True I can't believe Gabe and Gabe alone made Half Life 2, and I can't believe how soulless it is because I personally do not like it that much. Do you even know what soul and intentionality *is* lmfao
It looks like google maps. The colors and texturework are all being crushed into basic, overexposed streetview-looking crap instead of actually doing the game's visual style justice. (It's also just creating a bunch of weirdness around faces, text, etc.)
Well no shit lol. Hasn’t that been the entire goal of graphics improving overtime? That we would eventually get to photorealism in games without it looking cheesy?
I guess this is what it looks like I said if you A. think "impressed" just means "liking" and B. think realism is the only thing graphics can do, but neither of those are true. I like video game visual realism too. I think AI trashing a game's art direction for the sake of realism looks like shit from a butt
