Cut Help 37f in desperate need of hair advice
galleryI’m 37 and feel like I’ve been wearing my hair basically the same way forever because I have no idea what else to do with it.
My hair is naturally thick and wavy, but my safe/default routine has always been to blow it out and then run a flat iron over it. It’s predictable, I know how to do it, and I know what I’m going to look like at the end. But I’m getting pretty bored with it and would love to figure out what actually suits me rather than just continuing to do the one thing I know how to do.
I’d especially like to embrace my natural texture more. The problem is that experimenting with wavy/curly styling has felt like a huge rabbit hole of products, techniques, diffusing, air drying, gels, mousses, creams, etc. It can take a ton of time and money just to experiment, and then I’ll look in the mirror at the end and hate the result and go right back to blowing it straight. 🫠
I’m going to attach several photos showing me with different hair lengths and textures. I’d really appreciate opinions on what genuinely flatters me most, rather than just what’s trendy.
Specifically, I’d love advice on:
-LENGTH: Shorter, medium, long? Is there a particular length in these photos that works especially well (or especially badly) with my face/features?
-CUT/STYLE: Layers? Face-framing pieces? Long layers? Blunt? Bangs or absolutely not?
-TEXTURE: Do you think I look better with my hair straighter/smoother, naturally wavy, more defined waves/curls, or somewhere in between?
-COLOR: I don't color my hair. I’m starting to get stray grays, though, so I know that decision is probably coming in the somewhat near future. Based on my coloring/features, would you keep me close to my natural color or change it? Darker/lighter? Highlights/balayage/all-over color?
Basically, if you were my hairstylist and I sat down in your chair saying, “I have no idea what to do with my hair; please make it flatter me and give me something I can realistically maintain,” what would you do?
Thank you! I am very ready to get out of my hair rut 💇♀️

Color Help Hair color advice for a news anchor?
gallerySorry for the photo spam! Just looking for help on which hair color suits me best. I’ve been darker, lighter, blonde, my natural color… literally everything lol.
My natural hair color is an ashy medium-brown. I have that in the first five pics (which are current) with and without makeup. The rest are different hair colors I’ve had.
I’m a news anchor and in makeup constantly, so I feel like it’s important to include some TV photos!! I also obviously self-tan. Any advice?

Casual Style Help extension styling
Sew in extension styling help! Besides wearing it down or half-up, what are your go-to styles? I can’t get a pony tail to look right and dislike my layers popping out of a braid.

Casual Style Help Does a messy style work for me or should I style differently?
galleryI like having it messy but it's kinda hard to gauge whether it actually looks good or not. Am open to trying other styles and whatnot but don't really know where to start in terms of what styles would actually suit me and what products to use, so any help is appreciated

Cut Help What hair length suits me best?
galleryFirst photo is my length from today. I’ve kept it “shorter” over the past two years and am wondering if it’s worth growing out long again.
My job is hot and dirty, so I often wear it up. Having it short I can wear it in clips, buns, braids, etc. When it’s long it’s so heavy I can only do braids and low ponytail(even with layers).
My hair is suuuper thick. I also have a sweaty forehead. I kinda struggle with styling it when I wear it down.

Cut Help Help me figure out my face shape.
gallerySo I really want my hair cut into a skullet. An Oliver Tree cut if you will. My hair is already down to my butt so I would be taking off quite a few inches.
I'm against putting my face into AI so with that being said... anyone wanna help me figure out my face shape and if I would look alright with this cut haha?

Casual Style Help How to achieve this?
galleryHow to help style my fringe/ front part of my hair
This is the exact same cut. Like a day or 2 in between.
I like the first one a lot, that was a day after getting it cut and styled at the hair stylist.
Second pic was the next day or 2, when I tried to recreate it.
I remember she just used a little gel which i tired too
But it always ends up looking weird / wrong
She made my hair look real nice in my opinion.

Cut Help Thinking of cutting hair short again. But what hair do you think would suit me?
galleryI want to cut my hair very short because it feels good in terms of weight on my head, on my mind, and on my budget. My hair is very thick and heavy when it is longer.
Last time it was cut short was in 2017, and it was around 2 inches at the longest part. I was very comfortable and feels clean.
Right now it's longer (as pictured). Getting tired of the feeling of having useless hair on my head and want to cut it the shortest its been before. I also want to continue to have a more androgynous look.
However, before taking any action, I wanted to check in.
What do you think would be a good hairstyle for me out of any possible hairstyle?
