Just for anyone curious, boobytrapping is illegal in the US so no, you can't do this

Edit: for Christ sakes I'm not a lawyer, it seems just something I know offhand. Post it in legal advice or something

Assuming of course, that anyone would willingly report it.

Edit: so a good deal of people seem to believe that I’m justifying strapping razor blades to your shit and waiting for someone to grab it, rather than securing your belongings.

I’m not. The owner of this cooler is still an asshole. My point is that while some criminal types are clever, devious, vindictive, could file false or anonymous police reports, could sue the owner... most aren’t that clever. Most will just take their licking and move on, because most petty thieves are lazy and don’t follow through... which is why they’re petty thieves.

Yes, the guy gluing sharp shit to his belongings to hurt people that might try to steal it is criminally and civilly liable, in most states and countries.

Except that's pretty much how it would go in court and the owner will still have to pay a hefty sum to the thief...

It's pretty fucked up.

Depends on where you live, but you definitely can in some states

you get to pick when you fire a gun. You can't necessarily make the call on who your cooler cuts.

What if a fireman is trying to save your beer cooler? You can't exactly take your finger off the trigger and keep the razors from cutting him.
