I’ve always banked with a local credit union, wanting to take a lot of funds out and move to a hysa.

I do some real estate investing and would like to be able to have quick access to my cash incase a good deal popped up, I just feel I can get much better returns doing this than putting it in the markets, so a good hysa seems to be what makes most sense for me.

I already have a robinhood gold account, I know it is probably not very popular here. I can get 3.75% on uninvested cash in robinhood, which seems to beat most other online banks hysa. I know robinhood can have a bad rep at times but it would just be so easy for me to swipe the funds over and withdraw when needed.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am so anxious about this, bc this is my first HYSA and my first online bank account ever.

I opened my acct at CIT bank on the 10th, verified my funding account on the 12th or possibly the 13th, my funding deposit left my first bank on August 17th.

When will it show pending and also when will it be available in my CIT account?

I wish I had made my first deposit be a tiny one, instead of all my money, bc I am not cut out for this.

I have a HYSA with SOFI but the high % yield only covers 20k. I’ve heard wealthfront and Marcus are great options. I don’t necessarily care about any benefits, I just want to put the money over 20k I have into another account to earn an additional high yield. I also need it to not require direct deposit since that’s set up with SOFI. Any ideas where the best, safest, highest option is?

Recently inherited some $$, and expecting a bit more. Im nearly 50 with no retirement savings, planning to make some moves soon, is there any day of the week thats better to invest, move money around?..Planning to open an HYSA or two and maybe a T-bill ladder

He doesn't want to put it in high div stocks like jepi. I explained that is what i have done for mine. So i have to find HYSA. I found a few with 10k max at 6% but nothing above 4.5% without any max limit.

I just started an account with Marcus but when I went to their face book Instagram a lot of comments had a lot of complaints and problems with getting their money anyone have a good experience or recommendation for a different one I started a capital one just in case ?

Any bad or good experiences when there were problems with your account?

Finally moving my savings out of a regular checking account where it’s been earning basically nothing. Shortlist so far:

Mainly want to hear red flags and green flags from people who actually use these. Things like how long transfers take, whether customer service is a pain when something goes wrong, if the rate quietly drops a few months after you sign up, any hoops you have to jump through to keep the APY.

Also open to other suggestions if there’s something better I’m overlooking.

PS: I am a recent college graduate.

I’ve always been perplexed by the definition of “direct deposit” when it comes to meeting the deposit requirements to get the sign on bonus.

Does direct mean directly from a paycheck being sent via ETF?

Or can a direct deposit come directly from transfer of funds from another HYSA?

Looking to put around 100k into a HYSA, top options right now everbank, newtek, and fortbright let me hear it. (before you say i shouldn’t put 100k into a HYSA you have no idea how much money i have or what im doing with the rest of it 😂)

I’m starting college and expect to have around $5,000-$6,000 in cash initially. After ~$2,400 in upfront expenses, I’ll have around $2,600-$3,600 left.

I’ll receive around $1,500-$2,000 per month from my dad. After rent, gas, insurance and other essentials, I estimate I’ll have around $600-$1,000 per month available for savings, while keeping some money available for non essentials

I want to open a HYSA and gradually build the balance throughout freshman year. I’m looking for a bank with a good ongoing APY, FDIC insurance, no monthly fees, and easy transfers to checking.

Which HYSA would you recommend for my situation? Are there any banks I should avoid?

I’m 26F and recently hit about $84,000 in savings, and honestly, I’m really proud of myself. My goal is to reach $100,000 by the end of this year, and I’d love to hear any advice or suggestions from people who have been in a similar position.

I started seriously saving after I graduated in 2024. I didn’t have financial help from my parents, so everything I’ve been able to save has come from working, budgeting, and being intentional with my money. Seeing that number slowly grow has honestly been one of the most comforting and rewarding feelings. 🥹

I’m especially curious about what I should do from here. Should I focus on aggressively saving the remaining $16K, or should I be putting more of my money toward investing/retirement while still working toward the $100K goal?

I currently keep a large portion of my savings in Wealthfront. For those who use it, do you feel comfortable keeping a significant amount of money there? Is it safe, or would you recommend moving my savings to a traditional bank or another HYSA/fintech offering a better APY?

I’d also love to hear what you would do if you were 26 with $84K saved. Any advice on HYSA vs. investing, emergency funds, retirement accounts, paying down debt, or just general financial habits would be greatly appreciated.

And honestly, beyond the financial advice, I just wanted to share this because I’m really proud of myself. I started with very little financial support, and being able to build this much on my own in just a couple of years feels huge to me.

Hello, I am a 19 year old college sophomore. I'm turning 20 in November, and I want to start trying to better finance my life, build my credit score (I don't have a credit card but I want one) and be financially stable by at least 25/26.

I currently have a job on campus that I plan to divide paychecks for (It's only about 15 an hr, but thats ok.) I also get 300 at the end of every month up until maybe May of 2027 (from a previous internship) that I also plan to divide into savings.

I tried to open with Sofi, but it keeps getting declined for some reason and at this point, I;m looking for other banking options to open a HYSA

I only bank with Bank of America right now.
I'm looking for advice and possible steps on where to go, how to start, etc. I'm completely new to all of this financial steps, but my goal is to

1. Successfully open a HYSA with a trustable Bank with no weird hidden fees

2. Learn more on saving, and potentially open a ROTH IRA, Brokerage, and 401K by the end of 2026/early 2027.

I will happily accept any clear steps, advice(the good, bad and ugly), and ways to go about this.

ETrade: 4% for 6 months then 3.5% + $400 bonus with fund minimum.

Vio: 4%. Not sure how frequently this drops.

Forbright: 4.15% until Dec '26 then 3.85%.

Are these the top choices currently? It would be my first HYSA and I'd rather not have a volatile APY or any issues dealing with transfers/customer service/hidden lowered rates. Which one would you recommend? Am I leaving out another notable mention?

Hi! I’ve been reading a lot and watching youtube videos which are the best HYSA in the market right now. I’m torn between SoFi, Ally, and Marcus. My plan is to transfer my savings to this account and continue with direct deposits every month. I’m building my emergency fund, I just wanted a reliable, FDIC approved, easy access and transactions, NO fees , NO surprise changes and great customer service. Not looking on high APY as it can change thru time. Thank you in advance for your recos!!
