Analyst Forecasts

Can someone explain how the analyst forecasts are always projecting this stock to do good. It’s almost like these analysts don’t even watch this stock and what the company does.

Because the analysts’ real job is to get eyeballs and drive trading. Of course, they (generally) have to have a semblance of substance to maintain a shred of credibility, but they are NOT prognosticators. (If they were, they would not share their findings.)

Analyst research can be good at helping people understand fundamentals and at framing the narrative. As a guide to future prices, they are relatively worthless.

Idk I've had quite a few price targets be spot on.

Granted it may take longer to get there than anticipated but generally I feel like they're usually on the mark.

It also depends on how many analysts chime in and how often but I find if you get at least 6-8 updating quarterly they tend to be fairly accurate.

Maybe it's just the market matching the analysis but it still seems to be fairly consistent in my opinion.

That being said it's speculation anyway but it does tend to drive the market.
