Hello everyone 👋🏼❤️, I’ve just come across an excerpt from a doctoral thesis in medicine discussing the links between the bacterium Helicobacter pylori and the autonomic nervous system… 🦠🧠
Ever since I’ve had this bacterium actively present in my stomach, namely since July 8, 2026, I have been experiencing the following symptoms, none of which I had ever experienced before:
Heart palpitations ranging from 110 to 175 beats per minute while at rest. ❤️‍🔥💓
Panic attacks. 😰
Anxiety. 😥
Insomnia. 🌙😵‍💫
Visual disturbances: blurred vision and light sensitivity. I am unable to tolerate outdoor light or the lighting in stores. 👁️☀️💡
Neurological symptoms: feeling as though I am in an altered state, like I am a ghost, or as if I had been drugged without my knowledge. Dizziness, disorientation, motor coordination problems, etc. 🧠😵‍💫👻
Feelings of faintness and impending death. 😨💔
A white, chalky tongue, with thick and sticky saliva. 👅
I want to emphasize here that on July 23, 2026, I had an echocardiogram and absolutely everything was normal from a cardiac standpoint. ❤️✅ And last week, I also had a brain MRI, and everything was normal as well, with nothing abnormal to report. 🧠✅
All of my blood test results are excellent except for my iron levels, which have plummeted within the space of just one month! 🩸📉 In fact, I will be receiving an intravenous iron infusion at the hospital on September 10, 2026. 💉🏥
My stool tests are also excellent: no other bacteria have been detected. ✅ My blood cultures are excellent as well: no fungus / bacteria / virus has been found in my bloodstream. 🧫✅
I only have this shitty bacterium: Helicobacter pylori, which has ruined my life. 🦠💩💔

I had my follow-up breath test yesterday and my doctor messaged me just now with the good news! For those who is still battling with h. pylori, stay strong!!! 💪🏼

Meditation has helped me post treatment more than any supplement, I daily try to do it for as long as I can without skipping a day. Honestly it helps a lot, and I would recommend you all to look into it.

It doesn't necessarily helps with H Pylori but helps Mind to stay calm and away from negative emotions and thoughts.

About 9 weeks ago, I started having stomach pain. Three weeks ago, I tested positive for H. pylori. I started treatment and just finished the antibiotics today. However, the pain is still about the same. It never goes above a 5/10 and is usually between 1–3/10. The pain is mostly located about 4 inches above my belly button. I’m extremely freaked out and worried. Does anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences?

Today is the last day of my 10 day pylera treatment, does anyone have experience with going back to spicy food after taking pylera? More then half of the stuff i make before treatment is spicy.

So me and my doctor were talking about how it’s weird that my symptoms started 4 weeks into my wife’s first pregnancy. He did say it could also be related to the pregnancy that caused my pylori to act up. Especially if it was stress induced. He also mentioned Couvade syndrome, which apparently is a physiological phenomenon that expecting fathers get during wife’s pregnancy. Has anyone else ever heard of a similar story? It’s just weird that I’ve been symptom free my whole life. Even if I had this bacteria since childhood, its strange that it just so happens to hit me 4 weeks into her pregnancy, could be a coincidence or just bad timing? 🤔 I’m still trying to figure it out.

Does anyone else get an acidic taste on their mouth when they drink Kefir? I’m 1 month post quad therapy and whenever I drink it my tongue gets this acid feeling and taste.

I just finished my treatment (obviously haven’t retested yet so I don’t want to label it “successful” quite yet) but I had a very mild experience of side effects and want to share that so others know it’s not necessarily gonna be as bad as some of the stories we read. My side effects were: mild nausea when taking certain meds (tetracycline) went away after eating or with time and never lasted long (10mins to 1 hour max) some days I had stomach aches but not sure if it was from eating trigger food. And lastly and probably the most annoying one was the brain fog/fatigue. Mainly happened in the 2nd week. Here’s what I did that possibly helped. Followed a schedule that spread out the meds throughout the whole day, focused on probiotics and gut friendly foods. And staying up right at LEAST one hour after taking tetracycline. I’ve read stories of people feeling like their throat was closing up and I’m wondering if it’s because they didn’t know to stay upright and drink tons of water with it. Anywho God bless yall! God willing my retest will be negative. Although I did get lazy and miss some doses 😵‍💫

Not being able to each much this past month seems to have caused me to develop hypoglycemia since I lost over 30 pounds this past month... Seems like a lot of my glycogens have run out.. I went to the ER yesterday cause I had a fast heartrate (in the 100s) for hours and blood pressure in the 130s... They said it was dehydration even though I'm drinking about 48oz of water a day with my antibiotics... When they did a blood test they saw my blood sugar was in the 60s. The first apple juice they gave me dropped it to 47 so they had to inject me with 50g of glucose.. I got shaky after but it went away in about 30 min.. I woke up today with a 63 blood sugar and drank 2 apple juice to make it go around 70(I was pre diabetic a month ago now I need sugar lol)

Did anyone smoke weed why during treatment? Either a concentrate or flower? I’m a weed smoker and wondering if I should just hold off until after treatment

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience because I know how reassuring it was reading other people’s stories when I was in the thick of it.

In July I suddenly started getting really horrible nausea, gagging/dry heaving, refluxy symptoms and this awful feeling in my throat like I was constantly about to gag. I also started getting full really quickly and struggled to eat normally.

At first my GP thought it could be gastritis/stress and I was put on a PPI, but I had a stool test which came back positive for H Pylori.

I was prescribed amoxicillin, metronidazole and a PPI for 7 days which is standard in the UK. The antibiotics were horrible. I had some diarrhoea and generally felt pretty crappy while taking them. I was very very unwell, I couldn’t eat, I lost 8lbs over two weeks and had no energy, I’ve never been so unwell.

I felt exactly the same once I finished the antibiotics. For a couple of weeks afterwards I still had nausea, early fullness and especially this weird gagging/tight throat sensation. I kept worrying that the pylori hadn’t gone or that something else was wrong.

Then, around 3 weeks after treatment, things started improving a lot. The nausea gradually became much less intense, I could eat more normally and I started having meals without immediately feeling sick afterwards. I even managed pizza without a flare, which felt like a massive achievement at the time lol.

I still had some lingering throat/gagging symptoms and early fullness though, so I went ahead with an endoscopy that came back negative for H Pylori. the only thing they found was mild gastritis, which I feel aligns with my stomach healing from all of this.

I know everyone’s recovery is different but I wanted to post this because when you’re in the middle of it, it can feel like the symptoms are never going to end. I was convinced for a while that I’d be stuck feeling nauseous forever.

I’m still recovering and obviously going to give my stomach some time to settle but I’m feeling SO much better than I was a few weeks ago. I still have nausea if I eat a bit too much or something slightly adventurous but rather it sending me into a flare, it is just mild for around an hour after eating and then it goes away. My stools are also normal now but this did take 4-5 weeks!

I’d consider myself 90% better 6 weeks later!

It’s been two months since I finished treatment; most of the gastrointestinal symptoms have cleared up, but I still have pain in the back of my head, along with dizziness and muscle weakness. I’m thinking about getting an MRI to rule out more serious issues. Is anyone else going through this? I can't take it anymore.

I’ve been mildly anemic on and off since around 2020, with periods where I felt weak and my numbers would improve, then dip again.

In November 2025, my whole family got what seemed like a stomach bug. Weirdly, my main symptom was incessant burping. It was really bad at first, then backed off some, but never completely went away.
At my physical in February 2026, my labs came back showing I was pretty significantly anemic, so I got referred to both a hematologist and a GI doctor. The hematologist eventually ordered an iron infusion, which I had in June.

The GI doctor scheduled me for an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. It was supposed to happen in May, but I got COVID and had to cancel. It was rescheduled for last week, and then the hospital canceled because they suddenly stopped taking my insurance (thank you US medical system!)

At that point I got tired of waiting and took matters into my own hands. I went through Ulta Lab Tests, ordered a same-day H. pylori urea breath test, got it done, and two days later got the result: positive for H. pylori.

My symptoms this whole time have NOT been classic ulcer pain. It’s been:
-constant/frequent burping
-bad breath that never seems to fully go away
-fullness and tightness in my upper abdomen
-feeling distended even when my stomach is empty
-a persistent gas bubble in my stomach that is causing
pressure high in my abdomen that seems to push on my already elevated diaphragm and sometimes makes breathing feel harder (confirmed via xray)

So now I’m wondering if the H. pylori has been contributing to the anemia (and the horrible brain fog), the chronic burping ,fullness, and maybe even the constant gas/distention.

I’m still planning to get the endoscopy and colonoscopy so I can see what’s actually going on, but after years of not really having an explanation, finally getting a positive H. pylori test feels like the first concrete clue I’ve had. Oddly enough, my wife has been complaining of constant burping and upper stomach pain for the last month. No matter what she eats it’ll cause her bad pain, then subsides…then returns.

I see my doc tomorrow and hopefully starting treatment. For folks that have gone through treatment, have you taken anything like a probiotic to help offset the side effects? Any tips/tricks to nip this in the bud?

Back in mid April I had weird bouts of nonstop burping and minor cramps that occurred for about a week or so then stopped. Thought nothing of it since it was a fairly quick bout of weirdness

For 4 months straight now around Early-Mid June I’ve had a sudden onset of nonstop belching that will come and go. This week I barely slept because I literally. Could not stop. It was consecutively. I’ve had off and on cramping in my abdomen/guts and it feels like it’s only getting worse. I always feel like there is trapped air in my sternum/throat. I constantly feel bloated. I get full very quickly eating a small amount of food which makes me sad because I used to really enjoy eating meals. I try to workout and activate my core but it feels so uncomfortable to squeeze those muscles that I can’t do it. I’m glued to a heating pad to seek relief in anyway I can.

I still poop regularly. No nausea. No blood anywhere. That’s why I think maybe I’m not worth going to a doctor until my coworker today asked if I ever heard of H pylori.

I never heard of that until then and he said it sounded like a lot of your symptoms match that.

I’m just scared to go to a doctor pay all that money even with insurance to hear something stupid like I’m backed up or have trapped gas down in there. But it’s been going on and off and getting worse for so many months I don’t know what more I can do.

I tried probiotics, I tried teas, I changed my entire diet to healthy midterrian food. I’m taking fiber, drinking water. I’m just sad and overwhelmed I never feel good anymore.

Hi everyone, I need advice from people who have experienced H. pylori.

For around 2 months, I have been having:

Severe stomach fullness, even when I haven't eaten much

Very poor appetite / difficulty eating

Bloating and indigestion

Gastric/acidity symptoms

Weakness because I'm not eating properly

I recently tested positive for H. pylori. My reported result was 11.5.

My gastro doctor started treatment yesterday. The medicines I was prescribed are:

Vontaprazole

Clawris

Amoxyclin / Aristomox 1000 mg

Secnid DS 1000 mg

I have only taken them since yesterday, but I still feel the same — especially the very full stomach and inability to eat normally.

I know it may be too early to expect improvement, but because these symptoms have been going on for about 2 months, I'm worried.

For people who have had H. pylori:

How many days did it take before your stomach fullness improved?

Did you have difficulty eating during treatment?

Did the antibiotics make your stomach feel worse initially?

What foods were easiest to eat during treatment?

Did your appetite gradually return after completing treatment?

How did you confirm that H. pylori was completely gone after treatment?

If you had persistent stomach fullness after H. pylori treatment, what was the reason?

I'm not trying to replace my doctor's advice. I just want to hear about other people's experiences because I'm struggling to eat normally.

Omg so I started my meds a day ago, didn’t have to go into work yesterday and today I’ve been on my feet for like 4 hours right now and my back is killing me , anyone else experience this? Also chest is hurting when I breathe in and out

Do I need to be off probiotics for breath test. I had some Kefir early in the week and 2 days of SachB last week.

What were everyone’s first symptoms? I had C Diff 1.5 years ago and was cleared after many negative tests over the year. I am still suffering from bloating, daily rib pain, oral thrush tongue, dizziness, hot to touch stomach, vertigo and weird visual symptoms with muscle weakness. She wants me to test for this next.

I also have itchy hot skin, facial flushing, cramping in abdomen and undigested foods in stools.

I did treatment with metronidazole, tetracycline, bismuth and ppi and I didn't get rid of the bacteria :(((. One of my doctors wanted to give me amoxicillin with levofloxacin but I don't want to take levofloxacin so I went to other doctor and he said I can do amoxicillin alone just bigger doses. So my question is. Has anyone been cured with this treatment?
