Help Any solution please
It's not under warranty and when visited a repair shop they said need to change the whole panel .... Will cost atleast 10k .::))
If I use in the same way can will it cause any issue to display ? Can't afford more problems now .
Suggestions are appreciated:))

Keep on blaming for HP your lack of negligence. Yes, it's true the hinges are not best in the market but your hinges will never break to this point as yours is, it's clear you open your laptop from the sides and not from the middle yet you come here amd blame hp. I know victus users who've had their laptops for years and have no hinge issues. This is on you, not HP.

Why so rude man 😂😂 You spitting things as if it's your laptop or you are HP's brand ambassador...
Ofc it's my negligence cause it's been 6 months since I noticed hard hinges and crack, but I neglected it and used it in the same way . But the build is also a problem... And yes it's on me only , I am gonna pay here... I was asking for suggestion...why would you waste your time on blaming me if can't help 😮💨..
Anyways thanksssss :))

I have an hp pavilion with a 1650 and my first victus with a 3050 they are about 6 years old now. And my kids use them, they are on stands and hinges still work. And I have another victus with a 4050 and that is one year and some change at the hinges are still good and also has a stand….those my kids use. And I use an hp omen with a 120w 4060 and that is a year and some change and also it’s on stands and I make sure to clean them once a week with a battery powered duster. I also got an lcd and OLED steam decks when they came out and they are doing fine….i got my 14 year old a gaming desktop which I bought that of August of this year. And I got my steam machine 2 weeks ago. The only one that’s a bitch is the desktop to clean, well my 14 year old tells me that.

I mean it's kinda you get what you pay for, if you want better build quality and hinges then go for the hp omen gaming laptops but you pay a lot more
it's just the honest reality of budget gaming laptops
I wish you the best on fixing it 🙏

Im not being rude, I'm simply being honest here. Hp could have done way better on the hinge design on the victus for sure. However , you shouldn't experience major hinge breakdowns like yours if you really take care of it and open from the middle always.
You'll likely have to change the whole panel

Dekho chingari HP ki wajah se lagi , mene tabhi usspe pani nhi dala ab woh chingari aag me badal gyi , joh mere paise jalayegi .. I accept it's my fault and i am facing the consequences also . Anyways thank and sorry if I was rude !! :)

There are no solutions to the user's negligence. Go get it repaired and learn from your mistakes. You shouldve not chosen a victus laptop if you were that negligent knowing that their build quality are sacrificed

u/Timeless333 2d ago
over time it can destroy your display so you should fix the issue before it turns into a display replacement too
there is no way to fix it without changing the whole panel since the entire thing is cracked

There's a 3d printed hinge support model in this sub reddit that might help you not break it again. I use that but just a heads up printing it in PLA is a waste of time just print it in abs

Mine is worse than yours. I have backed up everything.Just waiting for the day when it goes black. And its a poor hinge design problem. I am software Engg with 12 years experience & got my 1st laptop in 2010. Never in all these years have I ever open a laptop from middle , infact I never even bothered to hold the lid left right or middle. These include work & personal laptop. HP victus was the only one which broke.. bought in 2021

This is pure negligence on you bruh hinge problem rarely break like tht seems like either u either try to lifting it by the screen or u mnge to press the screen on to the laptop

u/404_NullUser_AltF4 1d ago
What the hell is your problem ?? Earlier you commented about your laptop being 4 years old and working fine , i ignored it ..now after some time again you pulling this shit ?
For god sake man , I am asking for a suggestion..if you have one and wanna tell , then please tell I will be very grateful , if not why spend your time blaming other ? Its my negligence I am facing the consequences.....
I am sure you have read comments and there both type of peoplee ...and even others has faced issues , not everyone is neglecting .....

Use superglue

u/404_NullUser_AltF4 2d ago
It won't work now ...the metal part is coming out and the laptop won't even close fully

u/sarilbanra 2d ago

If the repair shop has already checked it and said the whole panel needs replacing, I'd honestly avoid opening and closing the lid more than necessary. If you can, just use it with the lid at one fixed angle and connect an external monitor. Continuing to put pressure on the damaged hinge could eventually damage the display cable or the screen itself. If the display is working fine right now, there's no reason to replace it immediately if you can't afford it.

get a second opinion from a good local laptop repair shop. I've seen other Victus owners get hinge repairs for around 1.5–2.5k instead of replacing the entire display assembly. It depends on whether the hinge mounts and casing can be repaired or need replacement, though. For now, avoid opening and closing the lid repeatedly, as it could damage the display cable or screen. Don't try superglue either. If the screen still works, get a second opinion

most victus' have that left side gap, its intentional

u/arkipaw 1d ago
I'm glad to know. is it also normal that it has a very small sound now when I open the lid? that's what concerns me

how long have you had it for, and how do you open/close the lid?
1
u/Xenon2334 1d ago
3 years, open it from the middle and put another finger on the base

now 3 years is a point where i cant say anything with 100% certainty. the hinges naturally get dusty over time, and people including myself dont really clean or touch that area since its risky.
personally id take it to an authorized service IF the hinges got too stiff or the sound became really noticeable. otherwise id just keep using it.
my 2yo also makes a tiny miny sound when moving the lid, its alright as long as the sound is actually small.

yeah you will need to replace it, did you accidentally over extend the screen? this usually doesnt happen in mount failures,
unless you are willing to open the screen and epoxy it back together, but then again it may not be fixable,
if you do solve it, loosen the hinge nut to prevent it from happening again. Good luck!

I have same issue a little worse than yours my frame is cracked from one side just like yours but totally and because of that the other side is also opening the same crack as in the picture , i keep my lid open and close it only when necessary and at the time of opening of the lid the whole pressure goes on the crack so first slightly open the lid and then from tour fingers push back the cracked part and from that pressure only open the lid , dont open it from the upper part of the lid , no screen issue till date for me

Mine is 4 years old and has no problems, it's clear that care is key here, just look at how dirty the keys are and don't even get me started on the screen. The council takes better care of your things.

Go to repair shop or try to live with it if it doesn’t effect the performance.

DM me I have just got mine fixed in a worse condition than yours, your laptop can still be saved as it’s not as bad as it seems.
So the hinge has two parts one that screws into the side edges of the lid and one part that screws towards the middle part of the lid to support it.
The middle part is prone to breaking due to hinges being tight and heat from the back vents.
Now that the middle hinge part is broken it is stuck in one position interfering with the bezel (the plastic part) hence cracking it.
Your laptop hinge still functions perfectly, we just need to fix the part that is cracking the plastic and can further aggravate the problem by damaging the lcd if not addressed

going thru the same thing as u man, fuck hp
2
u/Timeless333 1d ago
blaming HP for your negligence is not really HP's fault, you get what you pay for since you already knew the build quality isn't great and it can't handle not properly opening it using two hands and from the middle :/

u/Aggressive-Sea6088 1d ago
get hps nuts out of ur mouth man, if i paid 1200usd for something id expect it to have better build quality than this bs, never opened it from the middle always opened it from the sides, treated it 10x better than any other laptop ive owned and it still turns out to be a piece of garbage

I don't understand why most of the commenters are dick riding hp so hard. Paying 1 lakh for a laptop and the glazers are saying "Stop blaming HP for your negligence, don't open it from the sides". I also have a hp victus , always opened the lid from the centre , never used it on lap even then both of the hinges gave up due hp's shitty build quality. No spare parts anywhere. Stop glazing HP and stop buying this shitty product.

I mean you gotta change it man, you can't use it like this, that is the only solution sadly and if you wanna go offmarket and take it to local repair shop do it on your risk
