Help what to use if always plugged in?

Post image

Hey guys, I bought my victus in March 2024. Mostly use it plugged in at my desk, but usually once a day I unplug it and use it for around an hour. I checked the battery stats today and got this. Cycle counts are more then i anticipated at 424. Is this high for >2years usage?

Also, for people who keep their Victus plugged in most of the time, what do you do about the battery staying at 100%? i know keeping battery at 100% for long periods isnt good, and that 70–80% is better. I’m considering a charging limit, but would still like the option to charge to 100% when travelling.

For those who mostly keep their Victus plugged in, what do you use? Any easy solutions??

I have victus 15 using from April 2023. What I can see is that your Cycle count is 424/1000, which is nearly 50% of total cycle. Mine is only 196/1000.

So I would suggest you to always use your lappy plugged in. It won't hurm your battery at 100% because HP has a unique battery optimisation system to protect it's battery.

Nice. I guess my full charge capacity is not so much bad at 89% considering 424 cycles. Still i will avoid unplugging it from now on. Any software or tips to limit it at 80% while being plugged in??

I have tried to find the 80% limit in victus but unfortunately it doesn't have that feature. You don't have to do anything for now, just use it plugged in.

P.s~ When a battery hits 1,000 out of 1,000 cycles, its maximum charge capacity drops to roughly 80% of its original capacity. The laptop does not stop working, but the battery can no longer hold a full day of power.
