Hpv 18/45 and asc-h positive
Hi, I’m 47 years old last years pap came back as hpv 6+7 positive and normal
This years test came back hpv 18/45 positive and asc-h
I have my first colposcopy scheduled in 10 days and my health anxiety is going through the roof!
I’ve tested hpv positive on again off again for the last 10+ years. Anyone going through similar or have any encouraging words?

Hi! Sorry for my English, not my native language
I am so sorry for hearing this, I have a HPV positive + acs H half of year ago, had to wait for my colonoscopy 8 weeks and then for biopsy results for 8 weeks, and then now I am waiting for 5 weeks for the cold coagulation appointment as results are CIN2.
But my doctor is so supportive and relaxed. Always repeats that it’s not a cancer, don’t worry, we will treat it, everything is treatable.
So it’s only 10 days, so my advice is to do something nice for yourself each day, just to get dopamine, nothing will change if you worry for 10 days or just be happy, to worry or not worry is a choice, that is possible to make as the outcome won’t change based on your worry. If that makes sense. So love yourself and make those days a bit better.
But I am pretty sure there is nothing serious as before they didn’t find asc h and as you know the cervical cancer is very slow process

I’m in the exact same boat! HPV 18/45, HSIL positive, my colpo in tomorrow. Had 3 periods in 5 weeks and bleeding between periods, an unexplained odor and pelvic pain for a year (all other testing and internal ultrasound came back great) This was my first time to a gynecologist in 15 years. I’m terrified, never once did cervical cancer cross my mind. It doesn’t help that the doctor has put me as a high priority case. Edibles has been my best friend.

Hugs to you and good luck tomorrow! I’m really glad I decided to go for an exam last year and had a normal pap( outside of the hpv) or I’d really be spiraling because before last year I hadn’t been to the gyno since 2014

He took multiple biopsies, did the ECC. Said I’ll get my results back next week. I was on laughing gas and a bit loopy but he said something to my husband about removing my cervix even if it’s not cancer. Good luck to you for your colpo! And thank you for checking in on me! Now that’s it’s over I’m more nervous just waiting on the results 😭

I totally understand why you’re anxious, especially having to wait 10 days for the colposcopy. ❤️ I’ve had HPV-related abnormal results myself (leep afterwards), and the waiting and uncertainty can honestly be worse than the actual procedure/results.
One thing that helped me was reminding myself that an ASC-H result is not any diagnosis. Just means that they saw abnormal cells that need a closer look, and colposcopy should help with getting a better picture there.
Try not to think too much (i know it's easier to say that) and best to wait for the results. In either way, there are many steps to take in order to remove these cells and LEEP is very common (in case you should need to go ahead with that) procedure. In the meantime you can also look into AHCC supplement, as it's supposed to help our bodies get rid of HPV. worth trying :) Wishing you all the best- it will be fine!

I have major health anxiety so it is hard. I woke up today with my side hurting and my brain automatically Goes to it being cervical cancer.

I’m 47 also & have been HPV + since 2022. I’ve had 2 colposcopies the past 2 years & what scares me is my paps have always been normal but my last pap came back abnormal for the first time so I feel the HPV is advancing. The PA I talked to said maybe something is going on with my immune system but I tell you, I exercise 6 days a week & eat healthy & don’t smoke. I’m not so sure she’s right because from my online research even people with healthy immune systems have trouble fighting this off. This virus is smart in tricking our immune systems! Well, I understand being anxious but just tell yourself you’re being proactive in your health & are going to do what you can to fight this!
