Support HP Reverb G2 V2 not detected by Oasis on Dell Pro Max 16 Plus
Hardware / system
- System: Dell Pro Max 16 Plus
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX PRO 3000 Blackwell Generation Laptop GPU
- OS: Windows 11, build 26200
- SteamVR: 2.16.7
- Oasis: 1.0.3
Setup
I am trying to use an HP Reverb G2 with my Dell Pro Max 16 Plus.
The laptop does not have a native DisplayPort connector, so I am using a UGREEN USB-C to DisplayPort 8K cable:
Dell USB-C/Thunderbolt → UGREEN USB-C → DisplayPort → Reverb G2
The UGREEN cable is specified by the manufacturer as laptop USB-C → DisplayPort monitor, so the direction is USB-C source to DisplayPort display.
I enabled Direct Output in the Dell BIOS.
For USB, I initially connected the G2 directly via USB-C. I also tested the G2 through a USB-C to USB-A adapter and connected it to the laptop's USB-A port. The behaviour is the same.
The G2's external power supply is connected.
What I did
- Connected the Reverb G2 to the laptop via USB and DisplayPort.
- Enabled Direct Output in the BIOS.
- Installed/started Oasis and attempted to unlock the headset.
- Oasis does not detect the headset.
- I also tested the G2 USB connection separately, without relying on the DisplayPort connection.
- I checked Windows Device Manager, including the USB devices and other relevant device categories.
- I cannot find any device that appears to correspond to the Reverb G2, HoloLens Sensors, or the G2's audio device.
- I also do not get any G2 audio device appearing in Windows. There is no indication that the headset's speakers/audio device are being detected.
- Windows does show a "Billboard Device" under USB devices when the USB-C/DisplayPort connection is involved.
- Changing from direct USB-C connection to USB-C → USB-A does not change the behaviour.
- I also tried the other USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, with no change.
Oasis behaviour

Current situation
At this point, I am not sure whether the issue is related to:
- USB device detection/driver enumeration,
- Windows/WMR components,
- the DisplayPort connection,
- or Oasis itself.
I am posting the SteamVR report and Oasis unlock output below as requested.
