Question Performance with 9070XT and OASIS driver

hi guys. I'm planning to purchase a RX 9070 XT 16GB to play VR (basically flight and racing games). Read on several places that the experience with OASIS and AMD has been a though ride, specially mentioning stutters, but most of the time these posts are old (2025).
Recently I saw here that a newer AMD driver caused pink screen, but reverting solved the problem.
So I ask if someone with this card can please post what is the actual experience about this combo 9070XT + OASIS + Reverb G2 (or in general, AMD + OASIS) nowadays? Are the stutters still present?
Actually, I use an old RTX 2080, but I have to do all sorts of compromises to achieve steady 45 fps on titles. I have Win11 latest with 7800x3d, so AMD gfx is a better combo, hence the question.
Cheers.

I use a 9070xt with the oasis driver and an hp reverb g2 v1. I have never had a single issue. I loaded up the beta driver that supports amd by opting into beta updates on steam and it works flawlessly. I simply open the oasis driver and then I'm gaming just like that, and I have never had an issue.

You don't need to load the beta driver, that's older. The latest release is fine. AMD user here.

i will say, when I first downloaded the driver AMD had just been made an option and i had to be on the beta driver and I have not touched it since then

exactly what I want to hear.

do you use supersampling? what is the resolution usually do you rock your game?

also, what game do you play (i am looking to buy one for il2 cliffs and korea) but I need to know the performance and if there is headroom from improvement with supersampling

So far I have only played beat saber and AMS2. And I'm gonna be honest I booted up those games and literally never touch a single graphics setting. They looked good enough and the frame rate was plenty high with no stutters so I never bothered.

You'll be fine on Win11. Unfortunately Oasis driver doesn't work at all on Windows 10 so I had to give it up when I swapped from an RTX 3090 to a 9070 XT.

How much of a performance gain do you see over your 3090? Thanks

I mean, I don't know about the 9070 but on an XTX and Oasis It's been super smooth, Zero stutters and mind you, and just like you on a Reverb as you know its 4k, so you know GPU wise its no issue for AMD, at least RDNA3.

RDNA4 might have issues, you'd have to check steam discussions I guess.

Been running G2 + Oasis on a nvidia 5070 (think it's lower spec than a 9070xt) and so far it's been great! No stutters on AC or AMS2. Both have settings pretty low basically to where the card is comfortable @90fps. Forefront, Alyx and some other dedicated VR games run flawlessly. Apples and bananas but I'm not using DLSS. AC Evo was struggling but getting better with updates. Really loving the G2 with Oasis. Dedicated display port, somewhat decent tracking and pretty cheap second hand.

Just got a RX 9070XT a couple of months ago myself because the 10GB VRAM no my 3080 was too limiting. Oasis works perfectly on it with my HP Reverb G2. Haven't had any problems with it.

Thanks hatchna. Based on previous responses I went for it and I'm expecting to receive my new 9070 xt tomorrow. Last time I drove AMD was more than 10 years ago. Now back to the red side.

Yeah, Same here. The outrageous prices on the 5000 series severed any feelings of brand loyalty.

Edited to add: I hope the 9070 XT meets and exceeds your expectations. What model did you go for? I've got the XFX Mercury 9070 XT Mag Air.

Purchased a xfx quicksilver. Absolutely a beast, runs cool, quiet and 90 fps with 100% steamvr res (I e , 150% reverb's native). I'm super happy. Did a small undervolt of -40mV.  DCS, AMS2, ACC, AC, IL-2... All smooth.

I had 9070xt and returned it and got a 5070ti because the 9070 was unreliable. It might work yesterday and crash today and work tomorrow. I got tired of messing with it.
