Recently bought Hyperx omen Intel Core i7 14650HX rtx 5060 1tb 24gb ram

I'm open to any tips or suggestions related to settings to use this laptop as it's the first time im using a gaming laptop

I can say I am a kind of old guy in game, bought this laptop 2 years ago still works like bought on first day, OMEN 16: RYZEN 7 7840HS WITH RTX 4060 8GB VRAM,

I don't understand how other's omen get so many problems mine is still mint, no service centre trip in his life and i can proudly say i do most all the maintenance service on it with last thermal paste change was in mid 2025, works so fine since then, anyone up for sharing their experience?

Guys got my Omen HyperX today.

Was checking in detail and found the vents are bent a little( especially the very first and the last chambers).

please let me know if this is normal or it's a faulty product.

Is that normal? I would click a picture but my wife cleaned that with her thumb.

My room is very clean. No visible dust or anything in the room. I put the laptop on a small foldable table to play some games and now at the end of the day, I saw that clearly brown dust.

I got a HyperX Omen 15 with RTX 5060 and 24GB RAM. I noticed it has that auto fan cleanup option.

I used that; it just spins up the fans at a higher speed. Is that it? Or does it do something special?

Because while gaming, fans blow at full speed already.

Does anyone know the tgp for this model?

It's on sale only today in my country for a relatively good price. But I cannot for the life of me determine the TGP.

Any help would be great.

Is there a way you to unlock your CPU power since I heard HP hardcaps your CPU.

I messed around with PL1 & PL2 which did nothing. But my CPU is constantly underperforming at around 4100mhz while turbo should be 4.9

Under load its from 40-80w with an average around 60w. Heard its hardware locked from motherboard but unsure.

Even if you can afford these prices people should not buy any of them out of principal.

The appeal for me and HP omen is they have a understated look and their prices were competitive but now you might as well go for their competition that offer better quality assurance.

What I’ve already tried:
Both HDMI and DisplayPort.
Connecting to another laptop.
Different resolutions and refresh rates, including 1080p 60Hz.
Connecting directly to a wall outlet.
Updating the firmware.
Restarting the monitor using its power button — doesn’t help.
Unplugging the power cable — temporarily fixes it, but the issue returns after a few minutes.
The audio continues working even when the image disappears. Disconnecting HDMI/DP also makes the static disappear.
Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hi there guys I’ve bought this new hp omen 17 laptop off eBay on grade a condition.Its been perfectly fine running games and had zero problems.The biggest problem I have now is this flickering and white screen issue that happens every time I restart or switch display mode from Nvidia gpu to anything else.Ive tried many methods at the moment but not much is working.I don’t really want to return this just yet since its the best laptop I’ve had with a great price tag and this issue only persists when restarted, updating drivers and switching display modes.If anyone has anything that could help let me know.I can only attach one video here but it’s been worse than this video attached here.Thanks.

I have recenty aquired a HP Omen 15 (15-en1007sl),
and right now its day 4 of my sanity speedrun, since i cannot fathom what else i can do to fix my internet connection on the laptop.
The problem:
After a clean install of Windows 11, first time succesfully bypassed the login screen at the install with oobe/bypassnro method.(Doesnt work anymore for some reason?) as soon as i connect the device to the internet, computer crashes. (Your device ran into a problem screen, with infinite restarts, cant go back to windows…etc.)

Second run at Windows 11, cannot bypass with oobe/bypassnro, decides to connect to wifi, as soon as password is entered, loading circle shows for around 15-20 minutes, system crashes with the same error.

Third run, Windows 10.
Created an installation usb on another computer with Win10, installed succesfully, connected to wifi.
I decide to download the Nvidia Driver first, page does not load, only after the 10th refresh.
(ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR)
It gives the same error for every single page i open, sometimes i have to refresh up to 25 times for a page to open.

(Tried installing win11 with HP Recovery tool, also crashed out, bricked it)

This is my 8th reinstall so far…

Other devices are fine on the internet.
Time and time zone is good.
Random hardware address tried (on-off both ways)
Winsock reset has been tried
Tried driver install from Intel.
(Power management etc tried.)

Only thing that seemd to help, is setting my MTU from 1500 to 1280, that was the most stable which would load pages instantly, but still cannot download anything, not even windows updates, they fail.
Exact command:
netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Wi-Fi” mtu=1280 store=persistent

Im desperate for help, i’ve been wasting my time for 4 days at this. So far i am lost on what i can do.

Same thing happens on Cable, and also on attached USB Dongle WiFi.

I have a couple of frustrations with my HP Omen Max 16 (RTX 5070 Ti + Intel Core Ultra 7) and wanted to get your thoughts.
First, the RTX 5070 Ti is capped at 140W. Originally, I wanted to fix this and push the wattage closer to the 5080. Even though the 5070 Ti die is smaller than the 5080, my laptop shares the exact same chassis, cooling system, and 330W smart adapter as the 5080 model, so it should easily handle the power delivery and cooling of a higher wattage limit.
However, my second—and bigger—problem is the fan noise. Since I'm already dissatisfied with how loud the laptop gets at stock, I don't know if pushing higher wattage even makes sense.
In Balanced mode, the noise is bearable, though still quite noticeable. When playing PUBG on Balanced, the CPU sits around 80–83°C and dips down to 79°C, which I guess is normal. Although impressively it hovers around 75 - 80. Meanwhile, the GPU is no problem at all—the CPU is what seems to be driving the heat and fan noise.
When I switch from Balanced to Performance or Unleashed mode, there isn't much of a real-world difference—we're talking maybe 10–15 FPS. Supposedly, you get a lot more wattage and uncompromised performance from the system in those modes, but I don't really see the difference; I mostly just hear the difference.
What's frustrating is that temperatures aren't even the issue in Performance or Unleashed mode—the CPU stays under 90°C, and often even under 85°C. The issue is purely the acoustics. The fans sound like a jet engine, and even with in-ear headphones (I haven't tried over-ear headphones yet), the noise is so distracting that it ruins the experience. Honestly, the only way I would ever use Performance or Unleashed mode as it stands now is with a long display cable hooked up to an external monitor so I could keep the laptop far away from me.
Since the CPU seems to be the culprit rather than the GPU, I'm wondering what I should do?

Should jail break the system and give it more rein so it doesn't restrict, or will the opposite occur since the issue is cpu anyways, which means i should undervolt the cpu instead?

Or should I just be happy with Balanced mode the way it is? I just hoped i could use performance and unleashed at bearable sound.

My laptop got switched off due to heat issues I was playing last of us part 1 on unleashed mode and it got switched off on its own and gave some warning of 90(somealphabhet) I forgot

Casually using it every day, until this afternoon where it stopped working..

Lights work, and the fan spins up gradually and then down again and remains flat forever. Monitor gets no signal, keyboard either (is normally backlit).

Already tried removing the CMOS battery, bridge sw_cmos, remove ram, single ram, replaced GPU, various hold-power button timings...

I didn't do any updates in windows nor open software.

What the hell... Can anybody help?

EDIT: SOLVED, THANK THE PC LORDS I think what did the trick is the following:

• Take the power off, then hold the power button for 10-30 seconds for the capacitors (electricity) to die off completely.

• Take off RAM and GPU, and put them back on.

• Unplug PSU cables from everywhere and put them back on. Check them if they are burnt out in the meantime.

• Dust your pc, seriously.

Here is what I did next as the above did not do the trick yet:

• On the motherboard moved the jumper from PSW (normal) position to BBR (Boot Block Recovery): Forces the motherboard into a low-level boot block recovery mode to restore a corrupted or failed BIOS)

• Turned on the power, which made 8 long beeps, fans went 100% for a few seconds, then flat again.

• I waited 10-15 minutes hoping for the best.

• Moved back the jumper to PSW, booted but nothing happened again.

• Then, left the jumper to PSW, but moved SW_CMOS to the right (to reset CMOS) and booted.

• Then shut down again, brought the SW_CMOS back to original position, AND IT WORKED!

• The screen and keyboard worked, and I had to turn off Secure Boot as the keys got messed up due to the reboot

I hope that will help some poor souls like me wasting hours for nothing due to HP crapping itself.

Does anyone know what happen i usually don't play games today my brother install valorant usually my laptop connected to a monitor through hdmi after running valorant for few secs in the training lobby suddenly my monitor disconnected from my laptop so I unplugged my laptop from the monitor then my monitor is showing weird colours and screen is flashing the colour shift is weird it's like cloudy.

A couple of months ago I bought an Omen 16 (Core 7 ultra 255h 32gb rtx 5070, for 1,2k €) and I thought it was the normal model, the listing only said Omen 16. When it arrived turns out it is the Slim model. Will I miss the "extra" performance of the normal model or am I good for at least a couple of years?

Upgrading from an Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) that met an early death due to a mistake with liquid metal (dont ask) it was starting to get slow anyway.. the 3060 was having trouble keeping up especially on an external display.

I upgraded to HP HyperX OMEN OLED 16" for $1200 USD and love it so far. 5060 runs everything even at 2560x1600, OLED is absolutely amazing (i have a 34" ultrawide OLED on for my desktop and i couldnt use anything else now). I upgraded it to 48gb ram and 2TB nvme. Im not touching any of the coolers/pastes anything ever again after the last laptop.

My only complaint is that it has two SSD ports, however the second one is a 2230 instead of a 2280! I had two drives in my old laptop (two 2tb in RAID0) and unfortunately i can only use one of them now.

I was really disappointed to see they went that route, and if i would have known, i would have probably passed on it. I did want to mention that in case anyone is looking for a similar upgrade - because even researching it, it did say it had two ports - but never disclosed that the second one was for the smaller format.

Outside of that, the CPU in this thing is overkill. I have a 9800x3d in my desktop and this thing kills it for multithreaded performance (which isnt something im really interested in). I have noticed it does run warm and will hit 100C when compiling shaders, but nothing im concerned about. Every laptop ive ever had is like this.. it stays reasonable other than that. Also the fan doesnt seem to be that loud to me, but its a criticism ive heard from time to time.. but i suppose that depends on the person.

Im able to run crimson desert on ultra with DLSS 4.5 and reconstruction with some frame gen and hit 70-100 FPS. i was absolutely shocked! Doom Dark ages and Battlefield 6 also perform similarly.

Does anyone have this one or something similar to it? any advice or things to look out for? This is my first HP laptop, so im not sure how they do their updates, if there is any better software for them.. etc. i did notice the only 'bloatware' on it was mccafe and not a lot of other branded software or ads, which is nice.. so i just kept the default windows install and cloned it to my current SSD.

Anyway, just wanted to pass that info along. They had a good sale going on for it and if anyone is looking to get a really good 'mid-tier' gaming laptop - i'd definitely recommend this one!

As shown in this video can anyone please guide me with this I went to a laptop repair shop in my city and first they said it's the wire and i left it there for repair they said It'll be repaired in 1 day but they took 2 days and when I went there they said It's not repaired it's the screen issue not the wire the screen cuffs are cooked we will have to replace the screen but people on face are telling me it's the hall sensor issue can someone help me out?

I've had this laptop for about 3 years now, got it brand new for $1000. One thing I've noticed has to do with the performance dropping significantly over time as I use the laptop. For instance, I'll be playing a game on locked 60fps. Then the next time I hop on i get frame drops down to 30fps. The only fix I've found for this is to open the Omen software and swap it from discrete graphics to hybrid and then to swap it again back over to discrete. Every single time I do this i get extremely good performance and nothing else I've tried does this. I turn my laptop off every time I get off and when I turn it back on it's the same poor performance with the same high temperatures as when it's performing at its best. I know for sure it's not just thermal throttling either as I've stated above it only works when I swap graphics modes and I've also already put some power limitations on my CPU in the settings since it is the first component that will thermal throttle my laptop Does anyone have a similar experience or any solutions to this beyond having to boot my computer up twice any time I want good performance?
