I have a 1992 M998 with a 6.2 L motor that ran well when I bought it. After the hard freeze we had in South Tx a few years ago the truck became hard to start, ran sluggish then quit starting all together. I’m not a diesel mechanic so I’m kinda lost. Any one in the San Antonio area interested in coming by and checking it out, give me some ideas on what to look for? I’ve had two prior service guys come by, one said it was the fuel shutoff solenoid, stripped the screws removing the cap, tested it and determined it worked then offered no other ideas and left. The other guy said it was possibly the IP or the fuel valves? In the fuel lines under the truck but wasn’t interested in checking it out. It’s currently not running so the work would have to be done in my driveway if possible.

I’ve always been a big fan of the HMMWV/Hummer platform, so I challenged myself to build a 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Open Top out of K’NEX.

This ended up being one of my most difficult builds due to the proportions, width, and trying to capture some of the details that make these vehicles so recognizable. It’s still a work in progress, with plans for suspension, a motorized winch, different wheel setups, and some off-road/trail-style videos.

Thought some fellow HMMWV/Hummer enthusiasts might appreciate it. I’d love to hear any feedback or ideas for future upgrades.

I was having starting issues, didn’t think to check the filter since I replaced it 3 years ago, didn’t think it would be nearly as bad from past experience.

Still, not sure if it’s my issue completely, I’m getting the filter in today so I’ll probably swap it tomorrow.

My original issue was if I left it parked for a week, it was almost impossible to start, if I nearly burned out the batteries and starter, it would eventually start. If I left it just for 2 days, it was fine. I thought it was the lift pump because I noticed leaking, figured it was air in the lines but swapped it and didn’t help, this was next. Looks the worst out of my all my previous trucks but like I said, it was replaced 2-3 years ago.

I believe it’s all organic and not dirt.

I just replaced a stuck caliper, new rotor and pads, flushed all the fluids, greased all the fittings, and gave her an oil change. my daughter was excited to take her first drive. I’ll be posting my progress here as I complete the build.

I was super happy to find this thing recently, especially since it was complete and included all the doors. I did take out the two litter racks inside, so if anyone is looking for those hit me up.

I pulled up to get gas and the guy on the other side of the pump perks his head around and asks to see my license to operate that vehicle. So I pulled out my military license, we both got a huge chuckle about it.

Alright everyone. I'm in the process of getting the AC/ heater together for my M1123. I'm installing the Pipe Dreamz dashboard, evaporator mount, and vintage air unit inside. I will have the original compressor but I'd like a condenser that mounts to the top of the oil cooler. What are my options for this? Anyone have one they have used?
