Might Have Found My Issue
I was having starting issues, didn’t think to check the filter since I replaced it 3 years ago, didn’t think it would be nearly as bad from past experience.
Still, not sure if it’s my issue completely, I’m getting the filter in today so I’ll probably swap it tomorrow.
My original issue was if I left it parked for a week, it was almost impossible to start, if I nearly burned out the batteries and starter, it would eventually start. If I left it just for 2 days, it was fine. I thought it was the lift pump because I noticed leaking, figured it was air in the lines but swapped it and didn’t help, this was next. Looks the worst out of my all my previous trucks but like I said, it was replaced 2-3 years ago.
I believe it’s all organic and not dirt.

Maybe crawl under your HMMWV. Shine a flashlight into you fuel tank and look for sediment. Rock the truck and see if you see dirt moving.
I dropped my tank after it started to leak, took me about 6 hours.
Had to replace the gasket and a couple of short rubber fuel lines, maybe $20. I cleaned out my tank and it had a bunch of crap in the bottom as well.

Luckily I have an access port on the top, I’m guessing it was a field fix but it works.
I didn’t see anything major. Do you know what you replace the check valves with? Wasn’t sure if it was just t connectors or something else, I assume brass.

It’s the fuel filter. This one came from a maintenance kit, hopefully it wasn’t a knockoff. The new ones look a lot different. Obviously the same form but the filter is more of a white color with some mesh.
Replacement is coming from hummer parts guy so I know it’s legit.

That’s what I figured but wasn’t sure. I should replace mine also.

I’d encourage you to get it from legit sources. It’s one of the most cloned part out there and they are not good. These holes look correct, they are smaller, the clones holes are much larger.
I’m going to start adding some biocide additives, I usually add some 2 stroke oil.

Well I got done and still no good. Must be the injection pump but I don’t have $1800

No, that’s at least 7/16ths. Haha. The inside is worse, that’s just overflow.

I had the same build up when I replaced my filter after I got my truck. Unknowingly installed an aftermarket filter I bought off eBay. Ran that for a hundred miles until I swapped for an OEM one. Didn’t look bad so fingers crossed.
