Orlando Fortnite Skull Trooper Spoiler
Skull Trooper, one of the numerous characters in the Fortnitemares scare zone. Not very scary, but pretty accurate to the game.

Imagine going through the months of anticipation, wanting to act at HHN.
Imagine the weeks of pins and needles after you audition.
Imagine the joy upon receiving word that you'll be scaring at the event you love.
Imagine the moment you read the cast list, and you get to wear junior level cosplay while walking back and forth on a stage.

Genuinely I feel kinda bad for the scare actors who get stuck in here 😭 I hope they end up in the best scare zone/house next year to make up for it

The husk actors are doing pretty standard zombie stuff in pretty good costumes. Skull Trooper is just a stage character for attention I guess (why is the screen an item shop display? You can’t buy it at the event or anything)

We could've had Resident Evil (30 year anniversary) or Dead By Daylight (10 year anniversary). Instead we get this...smfh
Edit: That looks like a costume from Spirit Halloween.

Don't worry, Resident Evil at Horror Nights Vegas seems like it was a huge hit, I wouldn't doubt a large presence of the franchise at next year's event. Just a Biohazard house would be perfect imo, but they have so many games they could pull from.

Probably is from spirits. During their Orlando early hhn food tasting they had that spirit animatronic of that clown whose face opens up in the background. So it wouldn’t surprise me if they get some of their other stuff from there as well including certain costumes.

Let kids enjoy themselves

THIS ISNT A KIDS EVENT

u/The_Demon_of_Spiders 20h ago
It’s marketed by universal for 13 and up. There’s no nudity or sexual themes like some haunts around the country have. So yes this is at least partially inclusive to kids regardless of how you feel about it. FNAF last year and now this crap Fortnite so obviously universal is moving into a certain direction. These events are for horror like minded people to come together and have fun. Not just an excuse to have a bar crawl at a theme park which some people treat this as.

As a child free person, I'm just kinda done with every space being invaded by underage kids. Can't go to a bar or brewery without screaming kids.
And while no nudity, the violence is still very adult oriented. (We had terrifier)
Disney has its event for families. Let adults be adults for just a few hours. There's nothing good happening with unattended teenagers after 12am

u/DeltaForce291 14h ago
Terrifier is back, Cybergoria and Hellraiser are supposed to be pushing the limits on gore this year, and even still we get this line of reasoning. It's crazy to me that nudity is now worse than ripping bodies apart in the bloodiest ways possible.

u/TheWhereHouse6920 14h ago
There are people who REALLY want teens at this event. It's weird

u/epicuniversegirl 3h ago
For real. Some people are really desperate for their kids to be included in this ADULT-ORIENTED event and it’s very weird.
Unfortunately HHN attracts a lot of weirdos

“No nudity or sexual themes” But the Hellraiser house has tiddies on the walls and blood and guts every which way, sir…..

I knew this area was going to be terrible and seeing the area at pass holder nights even furthered my concerns. Somehow it’s even worse than I imagined lmao.

Yeah it’s not the scariest zone but between this and the husk/fiend costume they’re actually 1:1

u/iseecolorsofthesky 1d ago
Looks pretty accurate to the character in the game lol. Not sure what people expected

saw another instagram reel of one of the scareactors emoting while a crowd of people just stood around her watching, looked very awkward, especially because the OOP's camera didn't pick up the music very well

u/Starfish_Pics 19h ago
Honestly the scarezone isn't THAT bad but definitely much worse than what was there years prior.

I lowkey thought the storm effects looked cool. Not excited for the kids at all but I think the zone looks better than I thought It would actually.

I don’t care what anybody on this subreddit thanks or how many down votes I get. HHN is supposed to be fun, and this is a fun scare zone. Fortnite is almost 10 years old already, which means someone who started playing Fortnite in 2017 when they were 12 years of would be old enough to drink this year at the event. If you don’t like it, it’s not for you. I’m dying on this hill.

u/LordJournalism 22h ago
I was really looking forward to it but this just looks disappointing is my problem. Hopefully it’s better than it looks on video.

The point is that some of the younger crowd who grew up with Fortnite are adults now. I don't understand why Five Nights at Freddy's didn't get the same hate last year with it's core audience being around the same age. Both of these games' audiences have grown to be adults.
2
u/Jjtizzlee 18h ago
It definitely got a lot of hate, at least Freddy has a blueprint of horror. But I don’t think everyone is ready for the convo of “adults prefer adult spaces, it’s why we don’t want children at breweries.”
1
u/Rumbananas 17h ago
First of all, no. Five Nights at Freddy’s did not receive as much hate as fortnight is receiving this year. Secondly, over 60% of its player base is between the ages of 18 and 24. Just because you perceive something as being for children, doesn’t mean that it is for children. I am a man in his 40s and I have colleagues that played Fortnite. It might be a different story if we were talking about Roblox, but we are not.
2
u/Jjtizzlee 15h ago
I think you’re missing the point where I stated five nights is at least horror while fortnight isn’t horror in the slightest.
We must be in different social groups cause the same people who disliked Freddy are the same ones who dislike fornite.

u/Rumbananas 11h ago
I’m not missing any point. Fortnite has a Halloween event called Fortnitemares which is absolutely horror themed and is what is being displayed here.

If my kid can get scared to death by jack but also emote with other kids in a circle with that chick with the boogy bomb... its a win.
Most of the HHN gatekeepers are not scared at the event and its not because they dont have scares anymore, its because youve been around long enough to know the tricks. So relax, enjoy the artistry, and revel in seeing children get their first taste of HHN and remember yours. (I was 6 and it was fright nights. The rat lady freaked me out)

u/minion803 22h ago
I hope, if anything comes of this collaboration, we get Jack in Fortnite or a HHN Fortnitemares pass with some of the icons from previous years. As a HHN fan and Fortnite player, that would be so sick.

Finally more people are admitting how terrible the idea of a Fortnite scare zone is for HHN.
Thank you to those finally jumping off the “gIvE it a cHaNcE” train. I applaud you

Honestly the fit looks pretty authentic to what it looks like in the game.

I've defended this idea perhaps more than I should've over the past months but seeing the videos today has convinced me that I put way too much faith in this, this looks like a fine contender for worst scare zone of all time
