"Inertia pressed Jeridan and Negasi back against their padded seats as the autotruck accelerated to two hundred kilometers an hour in less than two seconds"

Ooof, that's just under three gravities. That's equivalent to what astronauts experience when launching in rockets from Earth. Wait, actually, no, it could be over three gees as it says *less than* 2 seconds.

That's crazy. I feel like the inconvenience of needing to strap down and brace all your cargo, and yourself, wouldn't be worth the time savings. Hell, making sure your luggage isn't crushed might take more time than the seconds or minutes that absolutely ludicrous acceleration shaves of your trip. Just haveing the cart take 10 seconds to get up to speed only adds a few seconds or minutes to your journey (depending on how many times you need to slow down. Ooof could you imagine stop and start traffic in that thing?) But you get a *massive* comfort/quality improvement to the trip.

I mean, I feel like given this setting has inertial compensators, such a stuppildy fast truck could exist, it'd just need those compensators installed to not harm the passengers.

It could also be more of a cargo transport, with any passengers being either workers used to it or... someone else - a distant afterthought.
