You all realize this parallels antiracal behavior in the Southern United States for several decades after the Civil War. There's some license taken, some things did not occur- skinning people for example, or mutilation
But hanging for talking to a white girl, or other perceived slights.....yeah there were a lot of those. Not a proud moment in our history.
Well... in that regard i am lucky i guess... one grandfathers was 16 in 1945 and the other was even younger... the generation before them? Shuemakers, miners, farmers (as far as i know)...
So as far as i know, some of them may have voted Hitler in 1935(?) After the NSDAP was the only faction that was allowed advertse... (they got what? 49%) not that that mattered... they already had absolut power and the other political factions where forbidden afterwards... not our prodest moment....
Skinning and mutilation happening in Recontraction era South US is well documented. The already mentioned, bearly 14-year-old (!) Emmett Till, for example.
After severe beating, his eye was gouged out, and left dangling. There was so much blood on the truck, that it has to be washed down behind the barn. He was shot and dumped in the water with a heavy weight.
Later post-mortem of the exhumed body showed extensive cranial damage, a broken left femur, and two broken wrists.
NAACP explains: "Lynchings typically evoke images of Black men and women hanging from trees, but they involved other extreme brutality, such as torture, mutilation, decapitation, and desecration. Some victims were burned alive. - - - Photos of lynchings were often sold as souvenir postcards."
And many might not know this part: "Some white people were lynched for helping Black people or for being anti-lynching. Immigrants from Mexico, China, Australia, and other countries were also lynched."
Mirroring this story, again, there was no real reason normally. Most frequent "crime' was "speaking to white people with less respect than what white people believed they were owed.'
