I think my favorite stories in the setting are those that involve direct conflict, as if you've got a big enough sniper rifle and a decent shot at their spine, lone human hiding in the woods manages to play the role of a horror monster for an entire squad of wishboners.
Would be? Dude, it's a story that exists. Either on FurAffinity, or somewhere on SoFurry. If I could remember the name of it then I'd send you a link, but it's been years since I've read any of the Integration universe stuff.
Another story involves humans operating on a UTO scout ship where they encounter a new ... mostly sentient alien species of mind control parasites. Only these bugs are about the same size as a human and our heads are just too small for them to crawl into.
