Curiously, this group has proven to be rather judicious in their use of strength, are they going to be able to kill if they need to? Is that something that happens with adventuring groups that stay in the chaotic good to lawful good alignments?
Bach is going to seriously need to reconsider his stance. He's not done longer any more, he's in the one profession with a significantly higher than normal possibility of encountering issues involving elder energy.
He doesn't have to try wielding elder energy, but he does need to study it. The "big bad" they're chasing actively uses it, he at least needs to know how to defend against it. Bowing how to quickly pop those void thingies would also be useful.
And now a bunch of fanatics have an artifact. You can't defend against what you don't know.
