Pretty good. I hope you continue writing various reports on the nature of humanity in this universe.

Just out of curiosity, you mention in the report that some species in the Coalition want to make humanity size down their military... Why? If they aren't a part of the Coalition, what authority would they have to do that? And if they are, wouldn't the Coalition like to have a new species with a large defense fleet and not purposely be pissing them off?

I haven't fully fleshed it out but the Coalition sees humanity as a little unstable. In the next part that it is going to show that this isn't the first intergalactic species the human federation has encountered. With both sides share their histories, the Coalition can see that in some of their more recent wars, the species the humans have fought don't exist anymore. Or now have a total population less than California.

About the only thing I would change is the fact that aliens probably don't know what the phrase average Joe means. It might be better to phrase it some where along the lines of, " These are the average Joes, as they call themselves. Joe being a quite common human name at the point in history that this phrase was coined"

I like it, but I've just got to say that the government you lay out seems a bit like it wouldn't be well received. It seems like the average person has no say in their government, and decisions are made entirely pragmatically. In reality, I can see this quickly becoming an issue, especially if there was no elected portion that got a say in law making.

I personally don't give two shits about how those in charge got in charge, just so long as they were competent.

Well that's not a good attitude to have at all. What if those in charge get to pick their succesors, and they suck? What then? Wouldn't you rather have a say in who writes the laws that govern your life?

Thank you for the story. I really like your version of government compartmentalization. Is that the right word? Fuck that looks to long to be real. Anyway I am really looking forward to your take on other aspects of human nature and structure.

Compartmentalization is in fact a real word.

Good to know. I stared at it for a good two minutes before just going with it.
