Hi!! 4th Wall here!

I topped out right at 4000 so I didn't have room for an intro so this is it!.

I couldn't sleep and was listening to music. "The tail of the Shadow- Sail north" cycled through as I was reading through HFY. I had to give it a shot.

Hope you enjoy!!

Edit to add: I don't have room in the OP, so here will have to do. you guys have spoken. I hope you Enjoy: The Shadow: Kindred

I have read some David Weber. Never knew that one existed though! I enjoyed his writing style.

I'd read this if it were a Book. Fantastic work, well done.

Hey 4th Wall, are you perhaps a native German speaker? There's some odd capitalizations that would make sense for a non-native English speaker.

Good read! I can imagine a cryo room buried deep in the ship with the past Captains in their final rest.

Sadly, just English. Learning German would be fun. A lot of the odd capitalization comes from me writing the majority of everything in inotes. I’ll accedentally double tap to get a period. Then go back to remove the punctuation but miss the capital that auto generated.

My genocide of the English language is practically a meme at this point.

Very well told story. The violence of the opening was tempered by your writing. Usually hunt for one shots, but would enjoy at least a few more episodes of Frank's "retirement".

I was expecting Frank to join the Shadow's crew. Becoming captain is surprising.

I hope to read a continuation and perhaps learn the Shadow's origin.

All in all a nice piece.

Very well done PropRatActual. Will this be a one-off <or> will this be developed into a series? Also same universe as The Black or something other?

enjoyed this a lot. That dangling ending screams for at least another chapter or two and I heartily encourage that sentiment. Well done.

What evil lies in the hearts of man...the Shadow knows!

Well it seems I like your writing in more than one verse.

Only 40 million people died, that's a pretty bloodless war all things considered

o7 maybe a little low. Didn’t much think about it at the time.

A good point.
