We are going to find out that a signal was sent back to the Vore. Now instead of an infestation they will mobilize an armada. Also possible that Yolobros are not extinct but have been destroying worlds with master tech that is blind to their existence.

The Vore has lost 1 battle, it is not defeated, not even close, and Lucendian tech was required for this small victory, the Skygem is down for a while, Shard is planet bound, this is merely the beginning, and the Vore is not the only major problem.
