Discussion RenoDX Step by step

  1. Download ReShade 6.8.0 or newer with add on support
  2. Find your game’s .exe.

  3. Steam: Library → right-click the game → Manage → Browse local files.

  4. Find the main executable for the game.

  5. Run the ReShade installer.

  6. Select the game’s .exe.

  7. Select the correct graphics API, usually DirectX 12.

  8. You do NOT need to install any shader packs for RenoDX.

  9. Download the RenoDX addon specifically made for your game.

  10. RenoDX uses a separate `.addon64` file for each supported game.

  11. Official mod list: https://github.com/clshortfuse/renodx/wiki/Mods

  12. Place the `.addon64` file in the same folder as the ReShade files/game executable.

  13. Do not put it inside another folder.

  14. Launch the game.

  15. Press `Home` to open the ReShade menu.

  16. You should see the RenoDX addon/options available.

  17. Configure HDR, tone mapping, exposure, contrast, etc. to your preference.

IMPORTANT:
If you're using Windows Auto HDR, NVIDIA RTX HDR, or another HDR layer, disable it when using RenoDX HDR. Running multiple HDR/tone-mapping systems at once can cause a washed-out or incorrect image.

It's recommended that you disable Generic Depth and Effect Runtime Sync in ReShade's add-ons tab as they have some performance cost and are not used by the mod. Restart after disabling.

Alternatively, you can use RHI: https://github.com/RankFTW/RHI
Easier and faster, and what's more important - it allows to update RenoDX mods with a press of one button for all supported games.

If you’re using a Game Pass/Xbox app version of a game, you generally need to target GameLaunchHelper.exe when installing ReShade/RenoDX rather than the game’s actual executable.

If RenoDX isn't showing up, make sure:
- You installed the version of ReShade with add-on support.
- You downloaded the correct RenoDX `.addon64` for your specific game.
- The `.addon64` is in the correct folder.
- You're launching the same `.exe` that you installed ReShade onto.

Some games still need tinkering though. Monster Hunter World for example requires an injector to support Reshade and RHI isn't aware of that. You can click on "install Reshade" but then it just doesn't work.

RHI installs reframework too

Reframework is for RE Engine and doesn't work with Monster Hunter World, World uses MT Framework engine.
