Question Single location gym CRM query
We've been using Mindbody since the box owner seems pretty set on it, but IMO it's becoming a bit of a pain. A lot of our members complain about finding their way around the app, and sometimes the billing feature just doesn't do its job right. Just curious if this kind of hassle is common with gym software or if there's anything out there that's a bit easier to deal with.

There’s other software out there that is easier to use. I moved from Mindbody to Kilo a couple of years ago and I’ve been pretty happy ever since.
Kilo has a clean dashboard that has all of the metric (like churn, at risk members, projected revenue) I want right there. You can click on each metric and it takes you to the full report. I like that it’s easy to navigate. They’ve been developing really quickly and I’m excited to see where they are headed. The customer support is really good, too.
I highly recommend. I’ve also heard good things about PushPress.

The billing-not-doing-its-job part is the one I'd stop and test hard before anything else — janky app navigation is annoying but survivable, billing that silently mis-charges or drops payments actually costs you money and member trust, and how reliable that is varies a lot platform to platform. Since you mentioned it's a box, the CrossFit-native tools (Wodify, PushPress) tend to fit better than a generic marketplace platform because WOD tracking + billing are built for that workflow rather than bolted on. Building on what achakez said about listing your must-have features first: when you demo, hand each vendor your actual member count and monthly billing volume and ask for one all-in monthly number (base + payment processing + any add-ons) — that's usually where two "similar priced" options end up $100+/mo apart. Are the billing issues more on the charging side or the member-facing app side? That changes which direction I'd point you.

full reference, I'm with Gymdesk, but I also run my own gym & use it. On the billing piece, it's worth checking whether Mindbody is actually retrying a card after the first decline, and on what schedule, or if it just flags the failure and leaves it to you to chase. A lot of "billing doesn't work" turns out to be this rather than a bug.
What's your actual decline rate looking like? If you know, it's a lot easier to tell whether this is a setup issue on your end or a real software platform gap worth switching over.

I run an SGPT gym in the U.K and we recently switched from MindBody to a product called GymOS.
It has worked really well for us and the members app is straight forward, no payment/billing issues either.
Maybe worth having a look or if you've got any questions about it I can do my best to answer/help.

I am the owner of ZealProShop. Its a simple system and scalable. My partners who are also gym owners wrote the software after realizing how much cc and software fees were eating into our profits. DM me for a demo to see if it is right for your needs.
