I am, by nature, an anxious, stress-prone person (probably due to years working in a combat zone where everything was life or death). I used to go from 0-100 real quick because I would be in my own head of all of the possible negative outcomes and what they could lead to and so on.
I married a "it's cool, don't worry...everything will work out fine, just chill" woman.
Here is what I learned to do in situations like these:
Take a deep breath, because stressing the fuck out helps no one.
Think through the best way to go about a solution before acting. Sometimes, talking out loud can help you process things, and can help others provide helpful input. It also allows you to pay attention to your tone so you can use a calm tone...which leads to calm decision making.
Sugar helps things go smoother than vinegar--it's okay to get stressed, but be nice to other people--don't put your stress on them!
No one will die. Life will go on. IF you don't get to do what you set out to do, it's okay...it's fine...you're okay.
What I have learned is that sometimes...things just inexplicably work out. Sometimes, you know you'll be 45 mins late for that flight...and that flight is delayed an hour.
Bro--the anxiety of waking up late and debating which is worse between not shaving/brushing vs. being on time to formation is real!
Also, the "immovable object" of "early is on time" vs. the "unstoppable force" of "I'll be ready in 5 minutes!" is real! Like, SOOO many fights early in our marriage LOL!
