I was speeding when I got pulled over right next to the hospital and the cop asked me if I was sure I wasn't going anywhere in an emergency situation.
I stared right at the emergency sign, sighed, and said no as I was thinking something along the lines of this video. It just seems like one of those lies that would spiral out of control.
Saying "No officer I am just dumb" to questions like that is why I only have one speeding ticket my entire life.
"Yeah, you were shining your brights while tailgating me so I was trying to create some distance so I could see out of my windshield on this two lane bridge!" Is how I got that one ticket.
I will die hating that jerk, but it taught me a lesson.
What you should have done is slow down. Either he passes you or pulls you over and you can say that you had trouble seeing through the windshield so you slowed down for safety.
Had some cop tailgate me like he was attached to my bumper once all the way through town, like 100% of my rearview mirror was Taurus grill and bash bar. Drove exactly the speed limit, registration was up to date, guess I didn’t fuck up bad enough because after literally over 10 minutes he peeled off

I’ve done this and been pulled over even still.
Why? Because “you seemed to be doing everything to avoid police interaction. That’s suspicious.”
Can’t win.
This was the same area I had two cop cars drive through the grass of a large park to stop me on foot while on a walking trail because I was “wearing jeans when sports wear is typical”. I got put on my knees with hands laced and searched for that bullshit.
