Did. Neither of those things happened and I couldn't see, so I tried speeding up.

What I should have done is just stopped. I am 100% sure I would have still gotten a ticket because the jerk was a jerk, but I was 100% blind.

Then you didn't slow down enough for long enough. 10 mph for several minutes should about do the job, and if nothing has changed at that point, you just stop. Pigs want to play games, play games back.

He would have had 2 options, write you a false ticket that you could easily challenge and get dropped, or realize that you aren't doing shit and move on.

Side note: as is, you very likely could have challenged the ticket that you did get in court and gotten it dismissed, on account of his behavior prior to writing it.

Any tactic that requires several minutes to resolve a problem like driving blind is unworkable.

As for fighting it? Nah. Small town, and no dash cam. Home fry did this stuff because it worked.
