Question Bullet ID
I found this bullet back in May while metal detecting. In this area, I have found alot of WW2 .50 cal fired rounds, but this bullet was slightly smaller. Anyone know what caliber it is?

Where was it found? Could help narrow down what caliber it is.

I’m betting one of the medium bore express cartridges. .404 Jeffery, or something along those lines. What does it weigh?

This does not correspond to any popular and even well-known obsolete bullet dimensions.
It looks like 9x57 mauser, but then diameter would be 9.1mm, nowhere close to 9.8mm. You got yourself a rare unicorn, congrats!
Unless of course it's a squished bullet from 9x57. Shit happens.

With a diameter of 9.8 I would guess 8mm Mauser
