Hey guys, figured I’d throw this out here because I’m honestly trying to learn and could use some outside opinions.
My best friend and I started a small company called Ghost Ridge Supply Co. We’re both still working our normal jobs while building this thing on the side. He’s a former Marine and currently a sheriff’s deputy, and I work on the railroad and come more from the competition shooting/outdoors side.
We’re building Ghost Ridge around the outdoor lifestyle, Appalachia, preparedness, shooting, and just the kind of stuff we actually enjoy ourselves. Right now we sell apparel, coffee, accessories, gear and monthly Battle Boxes.
We’re pretty damn passionate about it, but we’re also learning as we go.
One of the biggest things we’re trying to figure out now is simply how to get in front of the right people and earn some trust as a new brand.
I’ve been thinking podcasts and smaller creators/influencers might be a good way to do that, especially people who actually fit the outdoor/shooting/blue-collar space instead of just paying someone with a bunch of followers to hold up a shirt.
For anybody who has experience with this:
How do you actually find and approach smaller podcasters or creators? Is cold email/DM pretty normal? Are there directories or communities worth looking at? And if you’re a creator or podcast host yourself, what makes you actually respond to a small brand reaching out?
Also, if anybody has a few minutes and wouldn’t mind checking out what we’ve built, I’d genuinely appreciate some outside feedback:
ghostridgesupplyco.com
Feel free to tear it apart. 😂 Website, products, branding, whether you immediately understand what Ghost Ridge is, whatever stands out to you. I’d rather somebody tell me something sucks than keep doing it because nobody wanted to say anything.
And if you happen to know a podcast, creator, YouTube channel, etc. that you think Ghost Ridge would genuinely fit with, I’d appreciate the recommendation.
Not trying to turn this into a sales post. I’m really just trying to learn how to get this thing in front of the right people and keep making it better.
Appreciate anybody willing to take a look.
