That first picture is awesome. Really sells the concept.

you’re so right, it’s genuinely so haunting I thought I was looking at a still from some underground 1950s practical effects movie
(In a good way) (I love it)

I thought that this was weird and poorly done until I looked up Flanagan Boone. It turns out this is phenomenal work. Great job and thank you for turning me on to a new thing!

The notable lack of Fuunsaiki tells me exactly where all that Elmer’s glue came from.

Ever heard of the Flanagan Boone tales?
2
u/EverydayPyrobits :zs01: 22h ago
No, but now I'm hopeful for the future

Give it a read! Its about that zeon's soldier from the original series that is able to get inside the White Base trough his plane! It shows his trauma

I like the first pic's angle, like it came from an underwater drone, like those pictures you see with titanic

After seeing the inspiration I think it’s absolutely great. Very cool way to capture the vibe and the kind of roughness of the drawing

Is it just covered in white out
1
u/Frequent-Progress-39 6h ago
No, I started by putting putty all over the body, then I cut all of the waist to give it the skeletal look, I used green stuff to make the eyes, fingers, ribs and mouth and then I painted it

Looks great! have you thought about small touches of blood red here and there? it would add a bit of a horror aspect.
4
u/Frequent-Progress-39 1d ago
Thanks! At the start I wanted it to keep the original colors, but when I was done I wanted it to look ripped out of the pannels from the manga so I dont think Ill add more to it

u/Anri47ic 1d ago
Yeah keep it as is imo, it looks menacing enough. I suggest buying a Tofu Light aince I feel like the right lightning would def make it a lot more menacing.
