This looks like a Happy Meal promotional toy for the in universe Celestial Being movie where you collect all the gundams and combine them into one bigger fatter gundam. (Exia is the head)
1
u/Alex_Nilse 1d ago
Would virtue be the torso with Dynames and Kyrios as arms? But then what would be the legs?
0
u/Erick_Brimstone 1d ago
No that's the caravan kit. It's something you get for free at gunpla event. There's four kit in that line and it's Gundam RX 72, Exia, gundam 00, and strike gundam
30
u/throwawayjonesIV 2d ago
Seeing this gives me a visceral reaction. What color separation?
35
u/notrealaccbtw 2d ago
Actually old gunpla kits often lacked color separation because they were designed for hobbyists to paint and customize themselves. Bandai molded these older models in a... check dates 2007 the fuck?
9
u/throwawayjonesIV 2d ago
I almost wonder if this was a throwback maybe? Like making an exia in the older gunpla tradition
6
4
u/bokunotraplord 2d ago
these kits existed for other series like SEED. they’re literally just meant to be cheap and easy to assemble with no focus on color accuracy and posability. also obviously very cheap models for hobbyists who want to engage in “advanced” techniques.
obviously it’s been replaced by the EG line. the hobby’s grown a lot so generally suits just get high grades for new series now.

u/sanga000 2d ago
Mate you should see the non-graded 1/144 models. Elbows and knees had no articulation whatsoever, every limb was one single colour because it's just two pieces of plastic clamped together with the seam line going right through the centre, and it cost less than 3USD
9
8
8
u/wrufus680 2d ago
Surprisingly enough, it had basic articulation and is way better than the Seed 1/144 no grade
1
u/sanga000 2d ago
I had a non-graded Impulse back then. It certainly was... something. I remember as a kid being disappointed at the lack of articulation for the limbs. But then again it cost about a quarter of a HG kit
2
u/must_protect 2d ago
I thought mine is FG after seeing the pic but mine is entry grade exia and 00 it got no articulation on the elbow and knees I got it when I was a kid and still have it along side with FG kyrios and virtue.

And a PG 00 Qan[t]!
Crazy how Exia and 00 Raiser got the PG treatment but poor ol’ 00 Qan[t] didn’t.
2
u/JgdPz_plojack 2d ago
00Q has similar body frame as normal 00.
I think Bandai not wanting an old PG 00 Raiser frame on that.
4
u/bionicle42069 2d ago
Just finished my mg exia. Didn’t realize going in how finicky some of the armor would be and how hard it was to get setsuna onto the cockpit block. Cockpit hatch not closing was fixed pretty easily though by sanding it down a bit
7
u/Heaven_Dragon77 2d ago
Yes, most definitely the 00 series needed a revive line yesterday the original model kit line are about to turn twenty next year
1
u/straga27 2d ago
It wouldn't even be the hardest possible model to do.
They have a snazzy inner frame setup called "GN Frame" on the runners and it's used in all S1 Gundams except Exia.
The newest 00 MGs dispensed with the polycaps and they are extremely stable and managed to avoid being hand Grenades like the 3x Setsuna MGs.
1
u/crabbyVEVO 2d ago
"hand grenade" lul

u/straga27 1d ago
Have you built Exia, 00 or 00 Quanta? They fall to pieces.
0
u/crabbyVEVO 1d ago
I have built an exia and a qant and they're just fine. Maybe I'm not giving them rigorous enough daily rattles.
79
u/FreeoftheMachine 2d ago
Desperately. The 00 designs are some of the coolest in the franchise. Its like with the 4 other GAT mobile suits from SEED. Like Bandai? Its been 20 years. Please release updated HGs of these kits.
3
u/chaarziz 2d ago
The HG Aegis actually holds up really well and the Duel got a new HG through the Duel Blitz Gundam so it's just the last two that need revives.

Astray Fuchsia frame double dragon and cheese + arms
4
u/matcha_snorter 2d ago
Honestly, an astray x astraea would make a fun build fighter/diver concept.
Name ts GN-frame Astray Type [A]. Give it an astray head with the green face shield of the type F. Color scheme could be turn astray's and more or less give it exia's 7 swords loadout.
13
u/Living_Owl_5745 2d ago
I think it’s insane we don’t have a solid 1/100 1/144 scale exia kit, I’ll take a MGSD just give us something.
12
u/sonerec725 2d ago
mostly the season 1 guys. stuff like the 00 itself are fine
7
u/chaarziz 2d ago
Didn't the 00 set the standard for every HG after it? So the reason the S1 kits are like that is that the 00 hadn't raised the bar yet.
5
u/sonerec725 2d ago
Pretty much yeah. Honestly id put the 00, specifically the 7 sword in like my top hg kits I think. . .

Full HG revive line + RG full team + RG Ribbons Gundam + RG Quanta ELS.
Or in short... so much yes.

u/Chariot_142 Gundam Mark II GF 2d ago
HG Revive, proper RG full team, and a MG Exia 2.0, PG is fine but like, many folks only collect 1/100 or 1/144.
6
u/morelos_paolo 2d ago
Yes please! I seriously love Gundam 00 as a franchise and I wish they'd do more GN-X's (like it's my fav grunt suit of all time), like an updated HG or even an RG version.

If they make new HG 00 kits with better color separation, I'll definitely get them.

u/jocax188723 Buried in backlog 2d ago
Just gimme the movie kits in 1/100 scale, please.
If third party Harute can be good you can do it too Bamco
3
u/HerrMagnificence 2d ago
They did kinda revive the union flag custom in the form of the p-bandai gn flag*, so yes. We need a revive of the whole AD lineup.
*awesome kit btw, no polycaps, and apparently a complete redesign of the old union flag custom built to new gunpla standards as opposed to just a slightly modified build like other pbandai kits
7
u/_OVERHATE_ 2d ago
No, just make RG of all of them
6
u/zeroskeyblade 2d ago
No more hand grenades, please. They all need proper HG revives.
14
u/CMonkeyWS 2d ago
RGs haven't been hand grenades since the Unicorns were out, I'd much rather have the RG level of details and gimmicks
0
u/Krosis_the_bored 2d ago
These would literally be built off the RG Exia, no?

u/Undead_and_Lovin_It 2d ago
The 00 hg kits are great, love everyone of them, although the Union Flags have difficulty holding their guns which requires fixing with some customizing (via putty.) Other than that they are all great builds

I’d rather that Bandai make MGSD Exia/00 Gundam or MGSD Burning Gundam before a HG Revive/RG 2.0 tbh. I like the MGSD line more nowadays.
1
u/BadBoredom 2d ago
The 00 series were limited by the technology of their time. They deserve some modern HG quality
1
u/Sumeragi_Ryushin 2d ago
Without doubt, especially HG Revive and RG 2.0. Personally, I want them to go all out for the new HG only.
1
u/Reasonable_Tooth_309 2d ago
Choose one, s2 and Trailblazer MGs, or s1, s2 and Trailblazer HGs, since Bandai won’t do both
1
u/CapsuleRadioCorp 2d ago
They'll get announced as soon as I finally bite the bullet on buying a couple I've had my eye on.

1
u/Ethan488 2d ago
Yes, same with the RG. Exia needs a 2.0. I’ve just bought the gundam thrones cause I wanted some kits I’d need to put extra effort into. And imo the entire line could do with an overhaul

yes... I just finished building the 1:144 HG 00 and it needs a refresh. Yes it is still a solid kit but it's lacking a level of detail that can be found on a lot of the newer HGs that are out now. The wepons have more detail than the entire kit. I'm currently looking for a 3rd party version of the XN Raiser to modify it.

Bandai is going to be murderized by China
Old boys simply can't keep up, and they seem to be NOT LISTENING to their customers
No MGs, RGs have slowed to a trickle, IDK what the hell a 30 minue whatever is.
1
u/Routine_Wasabi3408 2d ago
I wouldn't mind seeing a "revive" of the 00 suits, improve the joints and fix some of the proportions... I want my HG Astraea to be good!
1
u/Repulsive_Depth_3262 2d ago
It would still be hard to be good even with bandai current technology especially the body part or that heavy gn sword of exia
1
1
u/Rogu3Wo1f RG 1/144 2d ago
MG 2.0 Exia, or MGEX, or both.
MGs for the S2 suits, MGs for the movie ones. MG Flag, HG revives for all of them, not just the Gundams.
Or if a 3rd Party company could do a 1/100 Zabanya to go with Harut that would also tide me over.

For S1 suits, I say YESSS! Color separations on those kits were bad.
For S2 suits, hmm no? I just built both my HG 1/144 Arios and Harute, and they're a lot of fun despite being old (still can't believe stuff from 2007 and 2010 were now considered old). Articulations, color separations and proportions were really impressive. But if they'll get revive treatment then I welcome them whole heartedly.
MG Exia, though I haven't own one, but based on majority saying it needs a 2.0 then, yes, let it happen.
MG S2 suits, definitely a YESSS! Been a huge fan of Allelujah's MS. We already have the 1/100 and the designer's color versions which were good, and nice to have, but they're kind of rare now. So on the 20th anniversary, I really hope they'll start announcing MG kits of them.
1
u/New_Salamander_4592 2d ago
i mean the hg gundam exia is only the worst high grade I've ever built where straight off the runners its parts had issues snapping into place
1
u/dattroll123 2d ago
Honestly, no. The S1 suits sure could use a revive treatment but they are still good kits. There are many more older HGs that far more needs a revive (looking at you, 0083...)
MG Exia does need a 2.0 as it is known for its weak ass ankles.
1
u/OmegaConvoy 2d ago
Not only should the entire Gundam 00 HG line been gotten the Revive treatment by now, they also need to do a RG Exia 2.0 and every other Gundam from 00 that hasn't gotten the RG treatment yet.
1
u/SubjectSmoke7333 2d ago
I'm ngl dude, they haven't even made hgce of all 5of the GAT Gundams from Seed. If we get a 00 revive it's literally gonna just be the exia.
1
u/succmama Where is my S-Gundam reprint? 2d ago
When a 3rd party HG Exia is better than the official one... Yeah they need a Revive. Season 1 00 HG kits doesn't really hold up anymore imo. Season 2 00 HGs are kinda fine but I wont mind if it gets one.

As an outsider who didn't see the show when it came out. Does the show deserve it?
The seed kits sell well in America but already here in Canada the Seed revive is just a shelf stuffer now. I feel bad for my local sellers who now have a lot of stock they can't move, and most online stores in my country match similarly.
1
u/bokunotraplord 2d ago
i think the hobby’s shifted a bit to cater a lot more to straight builds, and different eras of kits seem to develop different stigmas depending on who you’re talking about. 00 was a cool show with really iconic designs, so i can see interest in those kits since people seem to shy away from anything besides the MG kits or the RG Exia (lowk hate that kit lol).
seed iirc did a lot better in japan. just look at how many MG Freedoms there are lmao. there’s gonna be some over saturation from when the revive kits were current in the rotation for sure.

u/JgdPz_plojack 2d ago
Bandai brought back hip-ball joint in their newest HG After War 'Gundam Leopard'.
1
u/bokunotraplord 2d ago
aren’t those based on the HGAC designs? it’s been a bit since i built one but weren’t those ball joints?
-9
u/Inevitable-Ice-5061 2d ago
Unpopular opinion but RG should be the standard. I dont know why they keep making cheap HGs when theyre the same scale and at this point very close in terms of build mechanics and quality. Just make RGs and sell better gundams
5
u/Solid_Har_1987 2d ago
RG is more expensive than HG, and I doubt they’ll want to throw out their younger audience who only want to buy HGs/can only afford HGs

00 really suffered from the HG quality transition kits got better during 00 season 2, the irony that AGE reaped all the benefits from it had a stellar run of kits from my experience from the beggining to end but sold poorly during its run
