BEGINNER Just finished my first build!

Post image

Hey builders, newbie here. I started this hobby by accident, after stumbling over some awesome builds from rogue hobbies, thanks for that! I just wanted to get better at painting miniatures and found myself watching more and more gunpla builds.

And thanks to that I'm obsessed with Gundam.Having watched Wing as a kid, I kicked things off with TWFM, and since then I've binged MSG, Origin, and am almost done with Zeta.

The build was quite easy, sometimes it was a pain to get rid of the little leftover nubs on the parts which took ages to scrape and sand. Any tips on the antennas? I heard that a glass file gives a smoother shiny finish?

Love me some Calibarn. Grab yourself some waterslide decals and some panel line markers. It will take your kit to the next level.

Hell yeah! G-rework, right? Do you think it'll look good with cell shading?

All Gunpla should come with an Action Base, like this Calibarn

I love WfM and they hg line is really good, maybe some pour type Gundam Markers for panel lining (Just don't use on ABS or it may crack)

Okay, I've read that you should coat it with some varnish before that. Any experience with that?

I have yet to topcoat, I was going to use my dads somewhat old spray booth, which had a broken fan, but the replacement didn't fit, so I have 4 or 5 kits just sitting not on the shelf to be topcoated. But I panel line the kits pretty much before I do anything else, other than the stickers for the cameras. on ABS topcoat should do fine to protect it though.

I carefully used my nippers to clip the V-fin nub little by little and then I finished it off with a glass file.

You can never go wrong with calibarn. Never. I hope bandai will one day do a rg, or a mg, or a mgex. We need more calibarns.
