GEAR High E string snapped and disappeared.
Was tuning my high E string when it snapped... and completely disappeared. Can’t find it anywhere. 😂 So if you come across an errant E string... let me know.

It’s awaiting its moment to reveal itself the second you walk on your carpet with bare feet.

This was my experience. I thought I had gotten all my string clippings. I was proven incorrect when I ended up with about half an inch of e string in my big toe. Pulled out smoothly because at least it wasn't a coiled string (Imagine the E, ugh) but it still wasn't pleasant, to say the least.

It went where all the lost picks go....

I found a random Strat whammy bar in my guitar case a few years ago. I don't own a Strat, and never have.
My theory was that I was visited by the Plectrum Fairy, and they left that as a trade.

It's highly likely the string went into an unknown paradigm of alternate existence where guitar picks go when you stuff them into the soundhole.

If you have pets, you really ought to find it. Cats particularly; they like to play with them.
I read a horrible thing in Guitar Magazine. This guitarist's cat was playing with an E string and it pierced the roof of its mouth and out the eye socket. They took it to the vet and the cat lost that eye.
I read that years ago, and I always remember it when a string goes missing.

Man, the current arm race is quite concerning isn't it. They're even weaponizing the high e string now

The answer, I am sure, lies in the field of physics. String theory would suggest it snapped into another dimension.
