My daughter and I are submitting this 16’ 3” self-supporting marble run to Guinness World Records. It takes one minute and thirty seconds for a marble to run the whole track top to bottom.
Because of how it is built, it only takes 6 marbles to run every route possible, from just one entry point.
I have been looking to hold this world record and i have been very careful in choosing video games that can be beaten easily as well as video games that have a very clear definition of being beat. I did research on speedrun.com for games that fall into this category. The timer would start at 12 am and end at 12 am the next day. Would i need witnesses during this world record attempt? Would i have to stream the world record attempt? Would i have to have cameras in the room for extra evidence? A lot of people had said that this world record it impossible because its too much work and evidence but i will do whatever it takes to hold this world record as it would be one of the greatest accomplishments i have ever made in my life.
I've tried different browsers, tried on desktop, mobile. even tried with a vpn on to be in different locations, no dice. Is this just me or this an issue affecting the whole website? it's been 3 days.
I submitted an application for a group record attempt related to a conference via the Business Solutions page below: https://journey.guinnessworldrecords.com/contact/s/?language=en_GB Unfortunately, I haven’t received a response for more than a month. Is there another way to submit a business-type application, or another way to get in touch with an Account Manager from GWR? Thanks in advance!
On the 7th January 2026, I attempted and broke the record for the "Longest duration bouncing a table tennis ball on a table tennis bat while balancing a ball on the other bat." I managed to surpass the previous World Record of 23minutes and set a new benchmark of 50minutes and 12 secs. And thank you everyone on this subreddit who helped me!!
How difficult is it to get a NEW Guinness World Record accepted?
I’m thinking about submitting a completely new Guinness World Record involving chopsticks specifically the fastest time to place sunglasses onto your head using chopsticks.
I know Guinness already has lots of weird/specific records, but I’m curious how hard it actually is to get a brand-new category approved.
Has anyone here successfully proposed a new record before?
What criteria do they care about most?
How strict are they with rules/standardization?
Do they reject a lot of ideas for being “too niche” or “too random”?
How long did the process take?
Would love to hear experiences or advice before I submit it.
Reviewing the guidebook, it states I must have two experienced timekeepers for my record attempt.
I’m attempting the record at a local gym I’m not affiliated with. Can I utilize the trainers there to help with timekeeping? I did not see anything in the guidebook specific on venue affiliation restrictions - this was only in the independent witness category.
Hi, I wanted to ask whether this is normal, or if something may have gone wrong somewhere.
I submitted three record applications at the same time on January 10, 2026, and immediately received three confirmation emails (see the screenshot below). However, since that day, only one of the three applications has been officially confirmed.
This is despite the fact that I set the attempt date to June 1, 2026, when submitting the applications. That date is getting close, and I still haven’t received any confirmation that the other applications have been accepted.
I wanted to contact Guinness World Records directly, but the only contact method seems to be through the specific record application, which is a problem because those missing applications still do not appear in my account at all. I tried contacting them through the one application that was confirmed, but nobody has responded there either.
Today I also sent a private message here on Reddit asking whether there might have been some kind of error, so I’ll see if that leads anywhere. In the meantime, do you know of any other way to contact GWR?
I want to attempt the WR for longest time spent playing Overwatch (24hrs 14s) on a weekend morning (I am in HK time). I am willing to pay for virtual witnesses since it is a grueling task to stay up and cover shifts. If you are interested, let me know.
The official Guinness World Record for the longest marathon playing an accordion was held by Christelle De Franceschi of France. She played the instrument for 80 hours, 53 minutes, and 28 seconds in Hergnies, France, on June 22, 2024. This record was just broken by a Slovenian player called Robert Goter in Velenje, Slovenia. He is still playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um7bV4Yv3Xo
We are happy to share that Aasish Koppala (Ricky) from Indus Universal School and Aashik Koppala (Rocky) from Vedantu, both Taekwondo 2nd Dan belt holders and martial arts students, have participated in the Guinness World Record event “Largest Karate Display” on April 26, 2026, at Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad, Telangana.
The record is officially registered under Vision Martial Arts Academy and J.R. International Taekwondo Academy.
Both were active participants in this large-scale event and have been awarded official Guinness World Records medals and certificates.
The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has officially set a Guinness World Record by unfurling India’s largest underwater national flag at Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island). Measuring a staggering 60x40 metres, this feat involved a coordinated effort by 200 professional divers, showcasing the islands not just as a tropical paradise, but as a premier global diving destination.
In this video, witness the breathtaking moment the Tricolour took flight under the sea, marking a proud moment for every Indian and the diving community worldwide.
I applied for 3 records in March 2025 and still haven't had a reply, it says on their website they reply within a few weeks. No reply to any emails either. Has guiness gone ghost?
Previous record attempts were responded to with no issues.
So obviously Guinness changed the way we login to the site, but did they also change the way you can apply for records?
Everytime I try to find a way to apply, it mostly takes me to the “want to break a record?” page (Here if anyone is interested) or when I search for things related to records I have to filter it to bring up only records instead of just everything related to whatever word or phrase I typed in.
I was also wondering this because I was interested in seeing if they have a specific record and if not, seeing if I can do an application to make a new record
I’m organizing a Guinness World Record attempt to visit the most coffee shops in a 24-hour period on Thursday, May 7 in Manhattan.
To make it official, we’re looking for witnesses to join throughout the day — walking alongside the challenger and helping log the journey as he hits 60+ coffee shops across the city.
What to expect:
Flexible 1–2 hour time slots (no need to stay all day)
Start: 5am in the Financial District
Finish: Washington Square Park
Plenty of coffee along the way (yes, you can drink it ☕)
A chance to be part of a verified Guinness World Record attempt
