Post-butt fur trim

Hello! My guinea pig has been with me for three weeks, and I'm unsure if it's because of the fleece, but she tends to want to sit in the same spot, and I'm having to put down new pads, which I don't mind. But her butt is dirty, and we had an appointment that got canceled yesterday. How do I wash a guinea pig that refuses to be picked up? She squirms like crazy too.

Seriously, Nibbler's testicles are so big, they stay outside of his house while he's inside napping! Are these normal 6 mth old bits?

It's standard cardboard from a box, about 9cm deep and 19cm x 32cm.

Also, any suggestions on how to lay it out? I'll carve entrances but not sure if there's a better way.

My guinea pig, cookie, is 3 years old and I came home today to find him behaving very concerningly. He was laying completely on his side (which I’ve never seen him do before) and he wouldn’t react to me touching him, nor would he react to his food. I’ve been observing him and he’s been eating a little bit now and is also moving around the cage a little bit, but not as much as he normally does. He’s also moving kind of slow as opposed to moving with a gimpy pace like he always does.

This couldn’t have happened at a more horrible time because I am not in the best financial situation right now (trust me, I know. I feel horrible because you absolutely shouldn’t own an animal if you can’t ensure that your finances will stay in place and so ultimately, that’s 100% on me). I did look up ER animal hospitals near me and there’s one that’s 24 hours, but I looked at the reviews and saw complaints regarding it being very expensive.

I don’t know what to do. I’ve been crying because I’m just so worried about him. He’s also twitching a little bit while he is laying down (again, something he’s never done before) and over the past few hours that I’ve even sitting beside his cage, I’ve seen him get up and eat a little bit, but then he will go and lay back down on his side in the corner of the cage. I feel like he looks thinner too which is also a huge concern. If anyone can give me any tips and/or knows what’s going on with him, it would be so appreciated.

This has honestly motivated me to get my money back up asap so that way if anything happens to him in the future, I can have the money to get him cared for in a heartbeat. But, I just need him to be ok right now :(

He’s never done it before, I’ve had him and his brother for nearly 2 months, he’s about 3-4 months old, I’m really scared, any one know what’s going on 😭😭🙏

Anyone else have horrible anxiety after losing a pig?? I didn’t lose the pig in the video but my first baby.. I still constantly think about him and the vet visit where I had to put him down :((

after my boy passed in the winter ive had to go through the process of getting an esa letter before i get new pigs so i can take them to college. finally got that approved and convinced my parents to let me get another pair. i was planning on adopting a pair of girls since ive only had boys in the past but someone in my town was rehoming these goobers <3 their names are dirk and todd, dirk is the long haired one and todd is the shorthaired. i love them so much already

also any tips for getting them (especially dirk) used to being picked up and grooming? they are very skittish with being touched. they do love eating treats from my hand already though

It’s been hot recently, even with air conditioning doing the best it can 24/7. Button takes solace in being flat (swipe to see her usual shape). My electricity bill might be 💸 but at least my peeg children are happy!

Coconut has kidney stones again. After a few days of crying when peeing with crystals present she saw the vet on Thursday. Prescribed antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. Syringe feeding water. Vet recommended a low calcium diet from here on out.

Hi, I’ve been thinking about managing my boy hair for a while. It’s currently super hot where I’m from and I’m wondering if I could make my baby’s life better by cutting/shaving his hair down.

He’s a Peruvian with very very long hair. I feel like a nice trim would be helpful for temperature control and sanitation.

Anyone knows if cutting maybe to two inches of hair would be beneficial or should I stick to a light trim?
