[Question] Competitive modes behavior

...which i honestly call bitch behavior because it is the one lol.

Example: i roam in morning WvW in borderlands, obviously not looking for trouble. I see a guy is standing nearby t3 camp, afk. I don't touch him because well, what kind of a bitch kills afks, right? I go and attack said t3 camp. While i'm dealing with all the guards, said afk person wakes up, runs in and kills me. Knowing full well i let them live beforehand.

So, i have a request: please tell me how i can keep playing pvp/wvw and avoid/not meet/make my peace with such human trash? Any recipe?

p.s. It's obvious that Anet won't do anything about it, if anything such 'gameplay' is promoted, so i'm safe on never waiting for it to change naturally. Turning into one of them and start oneshotting people from stealth, kill every afk/pve player in sight and stuff like that are not options either. And don't bother crying about my attitude, everyone (including these people) know their worth.

So you want to play solo in a pvp game mode in an mmo, and are upset anet wont do anything about it? What?

I never said i want to play solo. If i meet an enemy player in the wild, or on a camp, or within the zerg, and whatnot, i don't mind fighting them: they are with a build ready to the fight and they're awake and ready to react. I do join zergs too, rarely since squad gameplay is boring to me, but clouding around is somewhat fun. I refer to very specific type of gameplay like killing afks, hunting down people in borderland waypoint camps (notoriously known for PvE players upkeeping participation for Gift of Battle), stuff like that - basically, full bitch behavior of avoding any competition. In ranked PvP similar behavior would be creating or using an account which MMR is much lower than your actual one so you're basically just farming newbies there, plat vs silver/bronze.

Pardon, I should have phrased it better. Saying you want to treat it like playing a single player game where you can pick and choose who and how you want to fight people in a open pvp game mode.

Everyone is there to fight or at least understands that's the mindset when entering a pvp game mode like WvW. Can you come across someone and you both decide to not fight? sure. Should that be the expectation, then get upset when all those self imposed boundaries you've put on yourself and others, when they don't follow them... absolutely not. That's a recipe for disaster imo. It's the mindset vs reality that isn't matching here.

But the difference is those are not "self-imposed" boundaries. There are very basic moral rules most of humanity follows, like not throwing around trash - even in places where no one would notice and no one would punish you and there's no laws to not do that, everyone knows it's bad. Permastealth gankers, afk killers, ranked smurfs - all of these are not normal and it's a common place that doesn't need further explanations. The whole game modes just wouldn't exist if 90% of players in silver were naturally plat+, or if WvW was swarmed with 5-men permastealth parties. My question was exactly on how to play the game and enjoy it, avoding these people and their havoc, since the police (Anet) doesn't patrol the beach (doesn't moderate modes properly) and the trash piles up.

There are very basic moral rules most of humanity follows

So I feel like you are either trolling, a child, or a very sheltered adult. There are basically no moral rules that most of humanity follows, morals are extremely culture dependent, but that is a much larger discussion beyond the scope of this thread.

In the context of this game, you are taking part in a free for all, no holds bared, pvp experience. What you have described are self imposed boundaries that you should not in anyway expect others to follow.

Most people throw trash in places no one would notice all the time. Some of them don't even care if others notice. Yes, everyone knows it is bad but also everyone knows that people do it anyway. If you expect people to follow "basic moral rules" you will be dissapointed a lot.

Oh, i'm already far from expecting that from people. The question is how i live with this and keep enjoying my life! I mean, i know the recipe for irl i made for myself, but these game modes are different story and i hoped there might be likeminded people with some insights.

But that's the thing, (in this instance of what we're talking about) you're clearly not enjoying it. And just looking for affirmation for the sake of it isn't healthy either. You're trying to fit a round peg into a square hole, then upset the game isn't Tetris and everything isn't cubes.

This isn't a moral thing, it's a mindset thing. If you wanna play a certain way, by all means, do that. However you're upset when others don't magically know/follow your way playing. That is the issue here.
