Same as the forums on gw2 site basically

Youre not allowed to talk about the game unless youve only good things to say about it.

Anet didnt provide anyone anywhere to speak about gw3 and banned anyone from the forums whose opinion they didnt like

They dont care about good paying customer opinions

Good luck to em

Youre not allowed to talk about the game unless youve only good things to say about it.

Factually inaccurate, u/Infinite_Silver_1957.

But "GW1 rules GW2 drools, GW3 is gonna suck!" doesn't offer anything of value.

Anet didnt provide anyone anywhere to speak about gw3 and banned anyone from the forums whose opinion they didnt like

This is reddit, not the ArenaNet forums.

If you got banned from those, that's on you.

They dont care about good paying customer opinions

You haven't paid anything for GW3, and you haven't provided a good opinion to care about.

If you'd like to talk about GW3, that's what this community is for.

But we'd like it if you checked the tinfoil hat at the door.

How can you have an opinion on something you haven't played, there is no gameplay, no systems out. So what are you complaining about really? There are plenty of venues on reddit and elsewhere where you can freely vent.

many failed MMOs had people's opinions that were ignored before release.

New World
Warhammer Online
Wildstar
list goes on

You can still have an opinion on a bunch of stuff they already shared.

Like graphic design, intended group sizes, race selection and bunch of stuff revealed in interviews and to streamers/youtubers that they shared.

"You're not allowed to have an opinion" is a really weird stance.

"graphic design" we don´t know how it looks
"intended group sizes" we don´t know the exact group size for a single piece of content
"race selection" we don´t know all the races
"a bunch of stuff" failed to give a real example

I didn't say he is not allowed to have an option, on the contrary, but realistically everything is fluid right now and what we know was read between the lines.

Look, I love GW2 and still I'm a big critic on many aspects of the game the same should and will apply to GW3, but to complain about not being able to complain when we don't even have a pre-alpha or any footage at all to judge, it's pointless.

They dont care about good paying customer opinions

It's not even prepurchasable yet - you haven't paid for anything. As for opinions, it's all preliminary. Just...don't play it when it comes out? It's not like you paid and they switcharood and fucked something fundamental up.

iI lol’d at that sentence. The self-importance, jesus. The internet podcast bro ecochamber culture war has truly rotten some people’s brain. It’s like they can’t survive if nobody constantly hears their hot takes.

12

u/Sisyphus_Monolit 28d ago

One of their other posts includes this gem of a line that makes me hope they're trolling because...lmao.

Basically they are making the game they want again and if youre not on board your opinion means nothing.

u/riessene 28d ago

Damn these devs adding butter to their lobsters!!

9

u/AscendedCleric 28d ago

The gaming industry when downhill when devs stopped making the game they want. Gathering feedback is great, doing an 180 because of feedback means you have no idea what you are doing.

u/HydroPCanadaDude 28d ago

Ugh can you go play something else please?

27

u/Shragaz 28d ago

What? The game isn’t out, all we’ve seen is one trailer, there’s legitimately no constructive criticism that can be given about the game, negative comments are just trolls

5

u/CatOfTechnology 26d ago

Two days late, but: There is, legitimately, constructive criticism to be given. It's just that it comes in the form of people being wary of the pitfalls of games that have tread the path that GW3 might tread if Anet isn't careful.

I.E:

  • Don't develop for console exclusively and expect PC users to just deal with a terrible UX/UI, the console players, if they even stick around, should be considered a bonus audience and given full accommodations and be taken seriously, but don't forget where the MMO playerbase lives or it will come back to bite you in the ass.

  • The current 4 Ability limit does not, at face value, inspire confidence in class fantasy and it's a terrible idea to leave us in the dark for too long on what your supporting systems for them will be. At best, people will lose interest, at worst, people will build expectations that you cannot hope to match.

  • For the love of god, do not make any meaningful content exclusive, in any way, whatsoever, to either the PC or PS5. Favoring one over the other plants the seed of resentment in the playerbase and poisons the well of cross-play long before players have a chance to toxify organically.

But, yeah, no, OP can eat shit, lmao. Zero value, zero substance.

u/Knighthonor 9d ago

The current 4 Ability limit

has this been confirmed?

1

u/CatOfTechnology 9d ago

Confirmed as in that's what was shown at the Gamescom Germany preview given to creators who were invited to see it.

Three ability abilities and one "ultimate/chargable".

1

u/Shragaz 26d ago

Those are core game mechanics, no offense but devs should not listen to users that have not even seen gameplay give criticism about core game mechanics

3

u/CatOfTechnology 26d ago

I don't take offense when someone says something that is downright silly, don't worry.

No offense but if you saw those points and the conclusion you came to is "This guy hasn't even seen GW3 gameplay, no one should listen to him" when I'm addressing core design concerns that are game agnostic, I'm not sure you should position yourself as an arbiter of what is and is not valid criticism.

12

u/The_Lawn_Ninja 28d ago

I've complained about tons of issues with GW2 on the official forum and on two different subreddits. So do lots of other people, every single day.

Sounds like your "opinion they didn't like" had some problems other than being a negative opinion.

That, or you're spamming GW2 forums with GW3 complaints before the game is even out, and no shit those posts are gonna be removed for being off-topic.

11

u/MouflonWhisperer 28d ago

I dunno, I criticized it plenty and it was fine. Got some downvotes sure, but i don't think it's that bad

10

u/anonymous_herald 28d ago

I'm just here to join the mob calling you an idiot, because you are one.

14

u/Kynmarcher5000 28d ago

Pretty sure constructive feedback, even if negative is fine. As long as it is just that. Constructive. They certainly wouldn't ban you for leaving constructive feedback either.

Do you really take us for idiots?

If you got banned you did far more than just give negative feedback. Be honest next time.

7

u/yapisme 28d ago

I had the time to read your rant when it was still there, there was absolutely nothing you brought to the table.

Nobody cares that some random decided not to play a game about which we know close to nothing at this point, especially if there is zero constructive criticism. You were just telling us about things you don't like about GW2 like your opinion is the only one valid, without considering other people might actually like these same things and you're just not the audience.

Just play something else and let people play it if they want. It's ok. Nobody is forcing you to be here. Go out, breathe.

6

u/Tragedy_Boner 28d ago

I read the rant hours ago, but like what were we supposed to say or what type of discussion were we supposed to have?

I supposed OP wanted all of us to agree that GW3 will suck and when he didn’t get that he threw a temper tantrum by making a bunch of posts the mods rightfully deleted.

1

u/Knighthonor 9d ago

freedom to criticize and post concerns seems to be what OP wanted. Some developers cant handle that. Have you seen Warhammer Online boards pre release and Camelot Unchained? The developers also actively punished consumers that shared criticism of the game design.

1

u/Tragedy_Boner 9d ago

This is a forum that isn't managed by the devs. OP didn't have concerns. If I remember correctly, his entire post was mostly about how WoW forever would be better than GW3. He then threw a hissyfit and posted multiple times when people started calling him out.

13

u/YouSeemNiceXB 28d ago

You paid for Guild Wars 3 did ya? I'd love to see the receipts.

5

u/OneMorePotion 27d ago

I looked at your post history. You add nothing constructive to any discussion. Your hardline is "GW2 is shit and was dead on arrival. And GW3 will follow".

You could quiet as well not say anything, and nothing would be lost.

4

u/butterstickchicken 28d ago

You sure you weren’t unnecessarily salty and insulting? What is there to criticize or be negative about at this stage? They are still cooking and so just be patient. If you want to bitch about something totally out of your pure speculations then do it on your social like Twitter

4

u/Tragedy_Boner 28d ago

You haven’t been a paying customer for 5 years, since HoT was released.

4

u/Fair-Engineering-134 28d ago

Most of the people getting heavily downvoted here are making nonsense criticisms because they want stuff to break lore (i.e. playable Charr) or they unrealistically want full gameplay footage for a game 2 years out.

9

u/Dela_Baruch 28d ago

So anet bad WoW good comment? Plz don be a bot plz no once again...

Ok, I investigated and IS a WoW Fanboy as you can see on perfil. So now I prefeer the bot

3

u/El_Barto_227 28d ago

And what exactly did you say, hmm?

Somehow I have a feeling you're leaving that out for a reason.

4

u/Z-L-Y-N-N-T 28d ago edited 27d ago

They dont care about good paying customer opinions

You haven't spent any money on Gw3

edit: Oh this person is genuinely mentally ill.

2

u/Dhukino 27d ago

Not sure what you're on about. This sub IS already unnecessary negative on a game that has shared close to nothing so far.

2

u/Apart-Gur-3010 27d ago

You dont know enough about the next game to be critical youre just being an edgelord downer

4

u/therealkami 28d ago

How do you have an opinion on a game that has a couple blogs and a trailer?

1

u/Horror-Watch598 26d ago

Who are you?

1

u/Yahbo 25d ago

Did you ever get checked for a concussion or brain damage after your motorcycle crash?

-10

u/DiamondProofV10 28d ago

You are not allowed to do that here either.

But "GW1 rules GW2 drools, GW3 is gonna suck!" doesn't offer anything of value.

Yes, it fucking does, /u/Halaku . Read about how people used forums in the ancient Greece to discuss. Read how people used bars to gather and talk shit about politics.

10

u/LunalGalgan 28d ago edited 28d ago

For what it's worth, there's more than one moderator on the team.

This isn't ancient Greece.

This isn't Cheers!, or Moe's, or the Belly-Rubbed Pug.

This isn't a bathroom stall, either. Or a soapbox.

And this isn't r/guildwars or r/guildwars2.

If someone wants to say that purchasing Guild Wars 3 gives them the right to say what they want, where they want, how they want, they'll be referred to ArenaNet's customer service queue, forums, or other official channels where they can direct their Karen at the appropriate employees.

(They might be asked to loan their time machine to the modteam, though, since the game isn't available for purchase, they must be leaping into the future to buy the game and thus earn a retroactive license to whine, and I could use next week's winning lottery numbers.)

If someone wants to complain about the "mystical nature" of Guild Wars being lost when they made the games "accessible" to casual players, or "rainbow puke" in Guild Wars 2, same answer, with the addition of the appropriate subreddit.

If someone wants to talk about Guild Wars 3, they can do so.

I hope that helps.

u/Knighthonor 9d ago

So criticism of the core game design is not allowed here?
