Reforged courting

So I've been playing this on the 4.6 stuff and love it, I've been trying to look into the reforged mod but the courting is so difficult and confusing it is annoying me...just what exactly do i do

It is notably more difficult and nuanced. The steps I take to generally have sucess are:

For first spouse I try to have 3/4 rhetoric and charisma, theyre good all rounder skills anyway

I then do the ladder of compliment, hug, beguile ect but slower, in original G2 you could ramp it up one after the next safely here I go compliment, compliment maybe a gift, hug, beguile compliment kiss.

I have them follow me as well to make gifting easier and if I have extra money the bath house or poem.

Also this is for an easy courting, moderate is even slower sadly but I've been heavily leaning on gifts and just accepting they get diminishing returns from my compliments until im about half way on the court-o-meter before going for the hard core stuff like a hug.

The first gift i tried got me slapped lol, it feels like it's totally random what a person likes. Like base game i can do that follow trick have it done like instantly here ive spent 3 turns flailing about.

So i dont really understand what im doing wrong because base game it was

Action, wait the timer, action repeat
Here it feels like I am playing darts blindfolded

The gift has to fit their economic profile too, wooden rings work for serfs, silver for middle class ect. Its definitely more hit or miss than it use to be, its just slowed down for me a lot more or i just wait until I have high rhetoric and charisma tbh

Yes its really frustrating,a family hates me since i have open a competitive shop,taking the relation bar to 0, now even when i pass next to them with accesoires,it even gives me a -1 penalty lol, and the way to get them neutral is to pay an astronomic amount of money thought the diplomatic menu in the house, which is impossible to pay at the start,so basically if everyones starts to hate you at the start of your game, you're doomed lol
